Napalai, that's it!!!
Mambo gets hopping at 10 PM, not sure about FLs as I've only been there with my GF. Eye candy was gooooodddddd. Normally, 3-4 ladies at one table bumping and grinding with each other.
Yes, hotel has a nice pool and service was good when I stayed there (once). Nothing near by, there was a kinda western place across the street from the hotel, but it was closed (not enough business).
Very slow internet on the 1st floor and weekend weddings were the negative aspects for the place.

Not sure about the freelancer action, but I've had some success with the old 'sending a set of drinks to a table' routine, or the old "I'm paying for those girls' drinks on that table" routine...
Speaking Thai is nearly a 'must' though as English is not as prevalent - and with my non-existent Thai, there was lots of entertaining 'watch the farang try to talk' going on, but it all worked out in the end. Can have lots of fun at Mambo, or going to Soi High Tech...

Just had a few mates come up for a visit to Udon. Did not do much regarding the girl action, but Wowser and his 'mate' seemed to enjoy the place, bbq anyone. Never let Wowser near the barby, all he wants to do is eat steak, sausages and lamb chops and suck on the occassional large bottle.
Settling into this large city is a nice little adventure. Not as hot, busy or polluted like BKK, surely miss those little things in life.

saw 1 at as club one night IB, had a head on it like a beaten favourite at Aqueduct, was dancing up a storm and its top came off, frightened the life out of everyone.
Mel got 6 longnecks of Changi for 200 bht each afternoon, cheap as shit, still cant get them down to 27baht

wowser, negotiate,,, tell em got them for 29 BAHT down the road etc etc, you know, bar girl type negotiations , really not worth the hassle when its so cheap. Barra I hope you got supplies of Vegemite, AHHH and lamb chops, mint sauce and gravey.
Udon is not that far from my Mrs's home town so might trundle over during the January trip if yoyr still there.
