In Udon Thani.
Thai Airlines at 12360 round trip for two, staying at the Charoen Hotel (tried the Charoen Royal Hotel, but it was booked...they had a suite for 2.5K baht a night, had to pass on that one) for 900 baht a night.
Hit a couple of places last night:
- Steve's Place, cheap beers and 1 doable girl at 1000PM.
- Scorpions Go-Go right across the mall, didn't see this place on my last visit. Not bad talent for Udon Thani.
500baht barfine, 2K shorttime and 3K all night was quoted price (I'm sure you could of gotten it cheaper, was with the girlfriend).
*drinks were really cheap, compaired with Bangkok.
Hotel's ok, fairly old hotel, fair rooms and really small bathrooms. It is walking distance to the mall and the bars mentioned above, maybe a 10 minute walk. You also get to walk by the main bus terminal (if you can call it that) and can see all the talent departing Udon Thani for Bangkok and Pattaya (fresh ladies....yea, semi-fresh as they are most likely returning from holiday).
Overall, I can't recommend the place.....not bad / not that good.

Mosquito2002 - I've been to Udonthani many times; your descriptions bring back lots of thoughts. Just wanted to ask... I remember the beds at the Charoen absolutely being the HARDEST beds I have ever slept on. (Unless you count sleeping on a plywood floor, covered with a very thin, very small bamboo mat in a village near Mahasarakahm.) Are they still super hard? And I'm not just talking "firm." At the Charoen, I kept trying to forget the bed and just go to sleep. But, finally I took the mattress off the other single bed in the room, put it on top, but still it was just terrible. That was the heaviest single-size mattress I have ever lifted, too. When they did that Thai room check as I checked out, the maid looked bewildered at my room set-up, but they didn't verbally complain, at least not in English.
Have fun! Hey, I also remember the massage place at the Udon Hotel as being fun. They weren't outwardly offering anything extra, but I could tell they loved the game and they were very nice there. Sorta like my home away from home, and that's nice when you really don't know anyone. Just to hang out in the midst of all that femininity was stimulating. Has anyone tried that place?

Emerald. Yes, the beds hard (I'm old with a bad back, so not a problems for me).....though big.
Had breakfast yesterday, pretty good set-up and food was good. Rented a car and driver yesterday (24 hours) for only 1500 baht, it was 1200 baht for just the car. Don't like driving in Thailand, way to crazy traffic patterns.
Internet at Charoen Hotel fairly expensive, 1 baht a minute. Use to 40 baht for an hour.
Only 2 more days in Udon Thani and I'll be back in Pattaya.....Soi 6 here I come!!!!

I’ve got a trip to Udorn scheduled in the next couple of weeks and haven’t been there before and need expert advice on guest friendly Hotel and P4P possibilities. I speak Thai and some Lao/Issan so language shouldn’t be a problem.
I’d like to experience a couple of sweet young Udorn poosao’s, BUT since I’ll be working there for a few days with a local establishment and will probably have a straight-arrow type co-worker/employee (middle aged woman) in the same hotel, I will need to be a bit discrete.
I need a suitable decent middle to upper scale hotel that’s easy to get the girls in and out of without being hassled and preferrably without being noticed.
I get to choose the hotel for myself and co-worker :P From the thread it seems that hotel choices are:
Charoensri Grand Royal (Robinson’s Mall next door)
Charoensri Palace (Oscar’s Massage closde by)
Ban Chiang (Oscars Massage close by)
Napalai Hotel (Mambo Disco in basement)
Which would be the best choice for me in these circumstances?
Also any other recent experiences or advice about finding cute young (legal age) poosao’s in Udorn?

Irish Clock is a nice place but might make it difficult to pull something off without your traveling companion knowing. All of the hotels you mention should be large enough to give you cover in regard to your travel companion knowing about what is going on. Udon has several guest houses and the such that are good deals and decent accomidations (like the Irish Clock) but I think staying in a small place increases the chances of your travel companion finding out what you are up to.
I would recommend Charoensri Grand – one of the larger hotels (which should make it easier to do the deed without your travel companion knowing), and location is good (several bars within easy walking distance). I would consider Charoen Hotel as well, and would not rule out Ban Chiang. IMHO Napalai is too far away from the action – hotel disco can have some decent action though.
Udonmap.com is a good website to review info on Udon.
