I know lots has been said about this. Im still confused. First of all im not into underage. For me its under 17 but lots of people warn against even 17-19 girls. Thai-guys can do what they want I presume and we must wait till girls are 20 ? Im I right its considered illegal under 20 for farang.
Do you consider it bad to be with girls from 17-1917 ? I would like to hear your opinion.
In Pattaya I hear hundres of girls from 17-19 booked by farang every day without nobody lifting an eyebrow. If you read about farang getting in trouble its always with boys who are 12-14 or something.
Is the risk really there with 17-19. Did anybody hear about anybody getting busted and if is it possible to pay your way out of it?

This should be clear. Thanks for your help. So I presume no problem with 18 and 19. Just yesterday a girl in bangkok warned me against 18 and 19. Thats what I normal hear. People advise to stay away from under 20. Why is that then?

Because a TG who says she is 18 or 19, or looks 18 or 19, or even has id that says she is 18 or 19, may really be 17 or younger.
Of course the other reason may be that the TG who warned you may be over 20 and doesn't want the competition.

I have read somewhere that the legislative point of view (18 years) and the judicial point of view (20 years) on that matter are slightly different.
I am not sure about it and I do not have any hard facts to prove but actually I do not want to get involved personally with a Thai court to finally find out about it.
Then I want to draw your attention to the warning notes on the bars' entrance doors stating that no one (customer, personnel) under the age of 20 is allowed inside, which in my opinion contributes to the 20 years threshold.

Yep, and a 17 year old with a fake ID of her sister is still YOUR responsibility according to the boys in brown. But that could be because you have money and they don't. I think if you show some fexability here, they could be flexable also.
P.s. do not complain to me if the above is not entirely true in YOUR case. It is just what I heard.

Well I can't say it is bad but it would remind me off sleeping with my Grandmother 
I believe the law is in a go-go you have to be 18 and over, to enter a disco you have to be 20 or over is my understanding. So you can BF that cutie in the go-go and take her back to the hotel for some fun but not out dancing at a disco 
But if you have a fetish for grannies I don't think there is an upper limit for age?

EDIT this post has been edited to take into consideration LastSurvivor's comments. I should have said the law not "to work in a go-go you have to be....." He is correct, always check the ID. To be safe try to stick with girls that look 20 or over.

Do not care what the law says,both police in Bangkok and Pattaya said to me not to take p4p under 20 and I for one do not want to be a guest in their jail debating the finer points of the law in thai,after all in thailand there is the law and then there is another law.I taked to police at the big station near soi 7 and beach road and in bangkok on the corner of majestic suites and nana plaza have a good day.But the law sayssssssssssss

As with all things there are exceptions. Went with a young lady from Long Gun a couple of years ago who I found out later was only 17. Did not look 17 but looked MUCH older. She was using her sisters ID who I met later at the same bar. They could have been twins it was that close. So, make sure to take a look at her ID and figure out her age. Doesn't mean it will matter if she is using a fake ID but at least you are trying to do the right thing.
