Is phi phi up and running yet? About half the land area was wiped out in last year's Tsunami..

Some of the scuba diving websites from Phuket still have the schedules for trips to Phi Phi island posted. So I guess it's functioning. http://www.calypsophuket.com/daytripschedules.php In fact the bungalows I stayed in are still pictured on another website. I'm surprised they weren't smashed being as close to the shore as they are.

1. Ao Nang Krabi La Playa Resort, but loads to choose from and easy to purchase on the web. 2. Ao Nang 3. Boat from Phi Phi direct to Ao Nang leaves at 15:30. called the Ao Nang Princess. Costs 300B one way. Plenty of other ferries from Phi Phi to Krabi Town.....250B btw...it's been announced that Phi Phi will only be redeveloped as a high class resort, no more small bungalow type complexes will be allowed.

I was in Phi Phi in Sep, It is up and running, however many of the resort is still in reconstruction mode. In Krabi, I stay in Rayavadee, highly recommended as it border 3 beaches and I have to said it is the best resort in thailand (better than amanpuri or banyan tree) as the natural beauty goes.

Spoke to a girl in Pattaya last week who told me here friend was working in Phi Phi, so guess thats back on. I'd recommend staying in Ao Nang then taking longtails out to Rai Leh & other beaches. Rai Leh in particular is beautiful, but not much in the way of P4P. Ao Nang has a selection of moderately reasonable beer bars. To stay. There is a small operation about halfway up the main road, past Mickey D's called something like Green Villa. About 800 a night. Lovely place & girl friendly
