Right above the Mandalay disco is this new place just opened two weeks ago called Star Planet.
Im not sure if Star Planet wants to be a G Club, or the place where the Mandalay clubbers go for afterhours. Star Planet closes between 4 and 5 am.
The catch with this place is that it has taken the best dancers from Forte Chiang Mai, other young and slim dancers (rarely found in Chiang Mai) and six Penthouse models. Total of 20 dancers. The Penthouse models are on a shorttime contract and will stay only until early January. The most unique thing about this place is that the girls dance in G-Strings or see thru lingerie. Of the six Penthouse dancers, three were incredible.
The first night I went there with my manager and her tbf. I fell for one of the Penthouse model girls and bought her some drinks. I think the bill there was 5500 baht. We had 4 girls at any time drinking with us and ended up with the Penthouse model and her sister (another Penthouse model) at the end. Everything was great and the model begged that I comeback the next night and we could go out.
The next night was alittle strange. Another bt member, my manager and I went there and had a goodtime until closing. The second night, we chose to scrutinze the bill and found that the sales manager and Penthouse girls padded the bill. My manager was so upset she got in a fist fight with the manager (another lady that was formerly an assistant manager at Forte Chiang Mai).
We ended up paying the bill which was around 6000 baht.
The third night got even stranger. I brought with me a 18 year old pr girl from Club 20 to finish off the bottle at Star Planet from the night before. My manager didnt want to go and said that I might have a problem there. From what I understand, it appeared nobody in the place could believe we came back the third night. We suspect the manager was either fired or taken some leave time off. Managers from my experience dont get important holidays off. Another dancer that was so sweetly took care of my friend hid behind a pillar and not one of the 20 or so staff would acknowledge that we were even there. The Penthouse model girls did, so it really didnt matter so much.
The funny thing is that this place doesnt know how to charge its cusotmers. You will get different answers from different staff. I suggest to bring your own bottle, (Star Planet charges 3K a bottle and doesnt charge if you bring your own) and pay for the mixers (approx. 500 baht). The lady's drinks are 200 baht, but more for the Penthouse girls. They might also charge time for the girls if they sit with you and drink from your bottle. I was always drunk at the end and couldnt figureout exactly what different staff were charging on the bill.
All in all had a great time at Star Planet. The place isnt snobby like most G Clubs in Bangkok, none of the girls will hassle you for any drinks and for now its the place where the Mandalay clubbers go for afterhours. The three nights we were there, we were basically the only customers until 1am.

Your right. The prices are high if you decide to buy the Penthouse models drinks. I've gotten lucky with these types of girls in the past so I tried my hand again. Unfortunately, at the end of the second night, the model I liked was driven away by a group of thai drug dealer types. I gave up. Her name was Apple. Not sure about a girl named Min.

The best part is you can bring a girl there, buy a couple of beers and google at these scanty clothed models. Shouldnt cost more then 300 -500 baht. Theres no pressure from the staff to buy any drinks for the ladys. The atomosphere chages once Mandalay closes at 2 and the party goers come upstairs.

The pricing is normal for Chiang Mai. G Clubs in the North definately have a thai vs. farang price. They know their prices are a half to a third of what Bangkok is and try to stick us with padded bills. Maybe I was the first farang to spend that kind of money and they hadnt figured out the best way to cheat me.
I would say the service of the girls was definately better then in Bangkok and the quality of the girls was equal to Carribean (although not as many). My friend suggested that this was probably one of the starting points before they go to a Bangkok G Club.
I would stay away from Forte Chiang Mai. The quality is not nearly as good as Star Planet; the same old girls with a less then desirable building. If you go, the girls will be in the back at a new club until 1am, then they open Forte Chiang Mai between 1-5am.
Club 20 is the best Pegasus type of place in Chiang Mai. The girls will stay with you all night for 3000-3500 baht. Only 18-20 year old Chiang Mai girls work here. The quality and service is very good. The girl I had was really fresh to the business and did everything for me. Usually around 40 to 50 girls to chose from.

I can tell you that I invested alot of time getting to locate the Chiang Mai "university" girls that either freelance sometimes, or are up for it if approached right.
The first step was ensuring age.
The next was asking for sight see tour.
Theres a few beer bars that have them on Saturday nights, and discos where they show up.

The place you discribed sounds fine, but the costs are high, and really not neccessary.
Guys wanting to do a lightweight glance of Chiang Mai, could easily stay hotels like Baan Thai, for 5,500 baht a month.
It has a pool, and is neat, cable, and aircon.
Add 1000 baht to cover the power/water
its not far off the University.
I (if I stay a while) go there.

Chiang mai has lots to offer if you look around.
If you buy a car, get one thats done less milage.

I wouldnt agree with you more.
One of the things Chiang Mai now has to offer is checking out some Penthouse model dancers in bikinis for as little as buying a couple of beers. If you'd be so generous to PM me the phone number of your unigal in Chiang Mai, then I could really save some money and possibly have more fun up North.
