Doi Inthanon http://www.doiinthanon.com/eng/index.php 200b for Foreigners to gain entrance, 20b for Thais two really big Jedis at the top, I mean REALLY BIG there are waterfalls and a cave along the way http://www.doiinthanon.com/eng/travel/tveng2.html went to this one : http://www.doiinthanon.com/eng/travel/wachiratharn.html but after reviewing their site, wish I'd went to this one : http://www.doiinthanon.com/eng/travel/maeya.html Doi Inthanon is the highest peak in LOS, so it's kinda cool to make it all the way up there and get your photo taken under the sign that says so ======================================== Shinawatra's home, Sankampang,,, there's a Hot Springs there, sign says 85-95 degrees you can boil eggs in the wells, and there are vendors set up all around selling eggs in baskets just for that you can bathe in the water, cooled down version, for a fee, 80b for Thais and 120b for Foreigners, for 30 minutes the entrance is 15b for Thai and 20 for Foreigners bring your bathing suit if you wanna swim in the pool of mineral water not far from the Hot Springs is Muang-On Cave can't remember what the entrance fee was, but thinking the same as entrance to the Hot Springs the stairs into this place are downright scary, you've got to dodge rocks overhead, and the incline is about 80 degrees in some places quite a view inside though, stalactites, etc., Buddha images, two rather large, one reclining be warned, Doi Inthanon is not that near to Chiang Mai city, it was about 100 kilos from the city to the top of the mountain. You have to drive down to the entrance and then up (North) again to the top of the mountain there is an alternative entrance (i.e. no entrance fee) if you come in from the Mai Jaam side, but that would mean starting in Mai Hong Son mostly Thais in all the locations mentioned here, so it was a nice break from the Hebrew King Look-Alike Hippies oh, almost forgot about the stop at the Handicraft center at Boh Sang (Sahng). This is a few kilos North of the intersection just after the International Mini-Golf, if you're headin' out of CM city toward Sankampang (Sungumpaang) their specialty is umbrellas, small to really big, mostly in a traditional design prices were cheaper here than in the Night Bazaar, sometimes as much as half. Assume that many of the vendors in Night B. get their goods from here, cause I see a lot of the same stuff on Chang Klan road (Chahng Klahn) BTW, the mini-golf isn't worth the trip out of the city, it's set up like a mini-golf back home in the fact that it's got little obstacles to go around, but they're just not decorated, everything is the same color, boring I know Basher will want to know about the Big C, so here's my coverage on that : must be relatively unvisited by Falahng, as I saw only one other Falahng there, and was getting the "wow, it's a Falahng !" looks but there was BKK Post on sale at Se-Ed books there were a ton of folks in the market this morning making merit by giving food to the monks, Macha Bucha day and all now, wonder if I can find a place to buy some today,

I have been to the hot springs place. Excellent stop for relaxation. I just sat down in the stream that runs through the place. Screw paying for the little house or pool of mineral water. I will never forget sitting in the hot springs, drinking cold chang, and eating 3 baskets of boiled eggs. Only thing was, the family didn't enjoy the rest of the ride back to Lampang where we were staying. Needless to say, I was emitting some nice boiled egg and beer farts. Kryptonite
