Me and GF went to Krabi for what I thought to be a nice couple of days by the beach. It ended being one of my worst experiences in Thailand ever! (31 years going here so I think it counts for something...)

Did something unusual for me: booked a hotel via internet on the Agoda pages. Whether they are a pc of s-t and should be warned about using is now pending since they "evaluate" whether they return my lost money or not. They should because this "hotel" is the worst lie and totally false in the descriptions of it.

It is detailed as "5-star", "Luxurious", etc plus pictures of it that just proves that Photoshop is a great software! Location is not what it is described. "5 mnutes from Ao Nang" HA! Get an F1 car in that case! Walkable if you are very fit and have PLENTY of time. But that is not the worst.

They say it is under construction, but obviously noone is working on it and my guess is that they are out of funds and now just try to skin and lure as many suckers as possible (like myself!) to come in and pay 5000 B - or more! - for something not even worth 500 B. In fact I would not stay there again even if PAID 10.000 B a day!

Already entering the lobby you sense the stench of feces. That is then added with the fungus smell in the room! Very nice and healthy! The whole place is just incredibly dirty, dirty and dirty again. Mud, shit, unwalkable paths etc makes moving around a nightmare. The room which they call "Topaz Suite" is the oldest must filthy pc of s-t I have ever walked into! Most bulbs not working, electrical wires hanging from the roof. They say it has internet - which it of course does not have - just another scam and lie! Staff is totally unattentive and dont give a rats ass about any complains. Of course they are well aware they are running a scam house, a horror cabinet and just close their little thai ears when you start complaining. Talking to the wall was more productive!

It is not a hotel - it is an open toilet and it is best proven by having a look at what they claim is a "pool". It was the most dirty, green of slime pond of water I have seen in a long time! It had a very unhealthy stench to it and there was dead bugs, plastic bags and other interesting waste floating around in it! I would not even have dipped a toe in it!

Yet to my flabbergasted jawdropping surprise a few very stupid falang took a dip in this sewer!! How crazy can grownups be?!?

I was so angry and upset that I almost lost my good behaviour. Had to spend the afternoon finding another place - which was better but again a rip-off as seems to be the case with entire Krabi. Will post separate report on that.

I had to spend one night unwillingly in this toilet called Ayodhaya Suite Resort & Spa in a bed hard as the floor.

Next morning out - and of course not a word of excuse from the pissants called staff. If you want to see the worst sides of thai people - Krabi is a very good place to go!

Now I have mailed Agoda a message that can not be misunderstood. I want my money back less one night and failure to do so will make me take legal actions. Meanwhile I will do my utmost to make sure not a single bro spends time at this dump! I have never posted such a warning about any place before - but this is the place that deserves it! STAY AWAY!

Interesting

I spent last week at the new Sofitel Resort in Krabi (up at Klong Muang Beach)

I was tempted to book in the Ayodhya, glad I didn't.

We drove past it several times and it certainly isn't at Ao Nang. Looks magnificent from a distance, guess the reality just wasn't the same.

You have any photographs of the problems? Agoda to be fair are only an agency and photos would really highlight the issue and at least would get them to take the hotel off their site. Make sure you stick up a review, you'll get an extra 500 Agoda points!!!

Just to cheer you up....the Sofitel was magnificent apart from some poor lunchtime restaurant service on the last day. The rooms are very nice and the pool area is magnificent, and it was onlt officially opened 3 days before.

I have actually posted a reiew on the Agoda pages and also Asiarooms (which was open for a review!) BUT neither of them have put it up!! Very interesting! So could it mean that a totally negative report will actually be censored by these sites? Dont know - but it certainly doesnt look to good since several days have passed and it is not up there! IF they are acting like that it is certainly even more important to be VERY careful when booking hotels via them! For me it will not happen again since you prepay for the whole stay and will probably not get a refund if you realise you have been had and walk out.

Jojje, you should post a review in Tripadvisor. They reach a lot of people who want to check out a hotel before booking. Thanks for the warning.
