Why not ask this board --that knows all- sees all --and tells all?
We have done Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Seam Reap( she lives in Ubon Ratchathani) ---last trip thought Hong Kong would blow her mind- and it did not- she not only wanted spicey Thai food every night- but just walking the city did nothing for her (except when it came to shopping)
So where in Thailand ( or near by country) - maybe a beach- great hotels, some sightseeing- and even a fair amount of sleeze for times I can slip away??
Any thought appreciated //Cheers

I agree with LY.
Very relaxed place.
Enough sleeze if you are without a girlfriend, but not enough to be really noticed if you are with a girlfriend.
Take a hotel at Ocheteul beach for the nightlife on the beach. And go to the Otres beach for some peace and quiet.
A good place for renting a bike. (Almost no traffic, but big distances.)
Try to avoid major holidays if you want a room and no hectic.

Hua Hin is the place. It's relaxed, but lots of action on a few streets, along with big-time hotels (Hilton, Railway). Much easier to get to than Sihanoukville.

Oh great- six replies divided 2 for each of the three-
Spent hours looking at all three- none of which I have ever heard of-
My thinking so far- on quality of hotels- Hua Hin wins- trip advisor lists so many great ones -the Sofitel (that Bull calls the Railway- its old name) seems as nice as my BKK favorites- Hilton second
On distance- Hua Hin wins again- seems only slightly farther than Pattaya (which I dearly love for its sleaze) - Koh Chang seems a 5 hour + trip and Sihanokville seems even farther ( also I LOVED Seam Reap but we flew --- which cost a fortune as Bangkok Air has ONLY non stops---- but it took 1 1/2 hours plus about 100 bucks each to go thru cutoms for entry and visa- it's a real racket-)
As for sleaze- Hua Hin has a Lolitas- and quite a few go gos- as I cant do ST or LT in part of trip TGF is there- this will do- cant get a handle on sleaze in other 2
Things to see- none have anything that stands out--

You're going to work harder to find a pretty girl in HH.
But I guess that's not everything. There are plenty of easy ones, and others that look better with alcohol. I've holiday'd there a dozen times from BKK and love the food and the relaxing environment. It's my favorite "away from the city" destination, apparently.
Sihanoukeville is nice too, very nice... but I have to go through re-entry visa crap and it's farther.

Travelled with a group some years back and did some treking from Pau across to Mae Hong Son. Stayed in a number of lahu and karen villages which was great. At night the locals were keen to sell us beer and when "massage" was mentioned we were all pretty much pounced upon by the local girls giving the most inept massages for a few baht.
All of which makes me curious about the P4P opportunities here if I was travelling alone. I guess that would be alone but with a guide cause these villages are pretty remote or maybe you can get there on local transport. Any experience of whats possible and whats practical. They are a great place to stay without the P4P but that would really be the icing on the cake.
