A sketchy report of my recent ramblings in Isan cities Khon Kaen, Udon, Ubon, Nong Khai, Mukdahan, Sisaket, Roiet, Nakon Phanom.
Khon Kaen:
Many establishments allegedly closed: Zolid, 172, HiTech; latter now has Violin Karaoke and Full Moon music club. The former had oldish girls, the latter was nearly void of customers when I visited (I believe they opened recently).
I enjoyed the RAD club (turn left walking from the street that has Eric's bar and Pullman hotel, and continue walking a few hundred meters; at night you can't miss it with it's brightly lit red 'RAD' sign) with (some nice) coyotees dancing; one girl told me she could meet me after closing time (2am) ; a waiter in the club told me he could arrange a girl earlier, from outside, but in order to do so I had to barfine him so I could go with him and he could show me where... I politely declined.
Checked out Harem (in Khon Kaen hotel) late at night, and it was standing room only; the place was heaving, but not a lot of cuties to be seen.
One night met a girl in a beerbar near Eric's bar (on the side-soi next to Pullman) and after we got tired of shooting pool and as it was raining and as she had a nice and shiny pickup, she wanted to take me to a Thai country club, DuengTaweng or something like that; a wooden shack, quite large, again standing room only, Thai band playing, and the place filled with young people having fun, eating, sipping their whiskey-mixers, dancing (on the tables even). Many were quite approachable to exchange a few words of Angrit with the big farang that just walked in. A fun place.
Had a good massage and FS by a lovely girl in Kosa massage; 2000 bht. Papa can deliver in the room, but only the massage girls, not girls from outside.
Checked out Ceasars massage, which seems to have moved (formerly in or near the Pullman, now a samlor-ride away, in a small street, but I lost directions) ; a deprecit place with friendly pappas, and one cute girl, whose performance was otherwise perfunctory (1200 bht).
Udon:
Merely spend my time in the Day & Night beerbar-complex; lovely, friendly girls to be found there, the brasher ones often had worked before in BKK or PTTYA.
Checked out Wolverine gogo bar which was dark and dull and not a cutie to be seen.
Mr. Tong, a nice bright place, on the corner of the main road perpendicular to the road that has Day and Night and a small circle road having more small beerbars. While it may have had some FLs (or just normal customers for that matter), most of the girls visiting where from the beerbars.
I had no chance to visit the massage parlors here (all in/near hotels near the lake), but was told that Valentine, near the Udon hotel, is best.
Made an afternoon visit to soi 7; was showed a few young cute girls, picked one and off to a bungalow; a hot (in terms of temperature, only fan in there) and sweaty, but perfunctory session followed; rather more of a curiosity-f***.
Nong Khai:
I didn't check the ladyhouses recently mentioned, but asked a tuktuk for ladyhouses; off we went across the mainroad passing through NK, near Dom Don resort: a few ladyhouses there, with cute and young girls, 700 bht asking price. Another ladyhouse closer to the old railway station, with older girls, 500 bht asking price.
Thai-Lao hotel has bar Nana and karaoke (if that name isn't indicative of things happening there... I didn't go there this time, but 6 years ago met some locals in the small dancing there, one of which offered me to go with his GF; although he was an amicable lad, he was also quite big for a Thai guy, so I politely declined; otherwise a mix of locals and farangs there, but some goofy goings on in the deprecit hallways; got involuntarily groped in the balls on the toilet).
One day, sitting on my riverside balcony at dusk, enjoying a cold one, I was called upon by a SW, who was standing under my balcony, in full public... as she looked plumb and I was a bit stunned at this public proposal, I declined.
Nakon Phanom:
Stayed in the View Khong hotel, with fantastic views over the Mekong and Laos, and inhouse delivery by the bellboys; the two bellboys each had their supply; the younger one was kind of a playboy and he delivered me a very cute, young girl, 1500 bht, but disappointing performance; the other bellboy brought the customer to some ladyhouses, which had oldish (and cheaper) ladies; thanks, but no thanks.
Went to the Duck Pub, a disco with the typical Thai dance and music show (nice), with some lovely dancers, who would sit with you for 30 minutes for the princely sum of 100 baht. There where also some coyote dansers strutting their stuff.
Closer to the river I visited the William's Bar or Maya Love, a kind of hostess bar with some very cute and young girls. I frolicked on one of the couches a bit with a very cute Luk khrueng girl; when I thought we both were good to go someplace more intimate I informed if she was interested to join me, but instead she wanted to go to the Duck Pub, and didn't go with customers; Maya told me it is up to the girls; some may, some may not, and if they do, only after closing time.
Mukdahan:
Ladyhouses conveniently located in half a circle around/under Mukdahan tower; friendly girls, some young and pretty. I went with one fair-skinned Lao girl, who soon began to ask for extra charges for using the airco etc. I quickly dressed and went to another house. Found another sweet girl, but performance so-so; 1500 bht.
Ubon:
I couldn't get the hang of this place; stayed in Nevada, which was far from everything (especially at night when the songtheaws no longer ran) ; and when I eventually found a tuktuk, had difficulties to make it clear to him I want to shag some lovely Ubon cutie; but found 'Nico' massage eventually this way, a place which seems to have stayed exactly the same since the Americans had their army base here, and enjoyed their R&R in Ubon; 1700 bht FS, which was a bit much considering the mediocre service.
The Rock Club disco in the Nevada was nice enough, with the typical energetic Thai dance and music show, where performers would do one song and then switch for another.
It seems I missed one street of bars nearby completely; it was mentioned in my guide even, but I failed to find it, and when asking for it on the street, no-one knew of it; later I read on the intarwebs that indeed there is such a street... anyone?
Sisaket:
Friendly small place. Stayed at the Kessari hotel, where I was offered inhouse delivery by bellboy, 1500 bht. But word got out to the frontdesk and it all became a bit awkward, so I didn't pull. The I-bar disco in the Prompiman hotel hurt my ears, so I went to the Nona disco instead, which had the typical Thai music and dance shows, and a lot of young people having fun. A mama in there was obviously pushing and selling some beautiful girls, but no Angrit spoken.
Roiet:
Stayed at the Mai Thai hotel, a one stop shop convenience for the mongerer: massage, karaoke, coyote-club all in this hotel. Walked into the massage lounge one afternoon, which had some young girls sitting on a bench. Soon had made my choice, but the chosen one gasped terrified. The papa said she was scared of farangs, and their big dicks in particular. Hilarity ensued. Luckily papa found a cutie who had no such fears, and what a pick it was! An adorable lovely girl, young, slim, handful-tits, with such a lovely polite demeanor, not a word of English, but every sentence/question concluded by 'na ka'? which sounded like 'meow' in my ears. And she knew her stuff: her performance was very good and just nice. Massage and naughty stuff well done and over, we cuddled and she murmled, nay purrred, sweet noises. A gem in the rough.
The coyote club had some pretty coyotes dancing, and otherwise many young people having fun. The coyotes sat with you for a drink but didn't go with customers, but one cutie student girl from KK gave me her number, should I be in KK the next few days; alas, I had been there already. On another night again I sat with some locals practicing their Angrit, and a pretty, but drunk, girl was shoved in my arms. She was very affectionate, no doubt caused by her intake. She wanted to meet me in BKK, she would go there soon. Suddenly however, there was a scream, and she was brutally pulled away by someone said to be her BF... ouch.
Perpendicular to the road leading away from the canal is a road/area with many Thai entertainment establishments; Pavilion 101 is a very nice music-club. ONO disco was said to be closed.
Closing remarks:
You'd have to like 'the hunt' if mongering in Isan; it has been said before by others, and I often found the hunt fun, if frustrating at times, often not resulting in a 'kill' or the ensuing initimacies where so-so, mostly because of language-difficulties or anxiety towards farangs. It definitely helps to speak more then basic Thai (or even better Lao/Isan), which I do not.
Since the mongering in Isan merely caters to locals, most of the girls for hire are quite pretty, slim, young and relatively fair-skinned; Udon was a noticable exception, as it seemed more geared towards farangs, and the girls, while friendly and not as jaded as BKK or PTTYA girls, are not as pretty as elsewhere in Isan.

@bingo629: apart from the first few nights in BKK, I always winged it, and as it was low-season, pre-booking was never necessary as it was very quiet almost everywhere.
@CalEden: thx, I found Isan needed some love 
@quack quack: lol, I did stay at the Charoen hotel in Udon (in my intel notes I had some info on bellboys in this hotel delivering inhouse (didn't check) and that it had FLs in the lobby (didn't see any), and I agree, it's a dump, and location not good; if ever I will visit Udon again, it will prolly be near the lake (Ton Koon and the likes) ; that area had some interesting night-life as far as I could tell and some massage-parlors as well.
KK will certainly be on my revisit-list; I liked that place as well. I didn't pull a RAD girl, as the waiter who wanted me to barfine him, told me they are all a bit tingtong (but no doubt he said that to plug is own supply). Stayed at the Kosa as well, indeed a nice hotel. I was told the Bussarakam is also very nice, and closer to that other nightlife entertainment area in KK.

Worked around Isaan a few times in the last couple of years. I found it tough to find nice pussy and so stuck with the tried and trusted taxi ot Tuk Tuk guys who seem to know where all the best pussy is kept!!

Regarding the Charoen Hotel in Udorn, I stayed there a couple of months ago. Got a Tuk Tuk driver from amongst the cluster that's always there in front of the hotel and asked him to show me some girls and thus the night ended on a positive note. This however requires some basic/intermediate Thai.
