I'm looking for a discreet place at the beach where I can take two TG's for about 3 days. Preferably right on the beach... but someplace where we won't suffer from constant "stares of shame".
Regarding price, I don't mind paying more than I do normally. Discretion and confidentiality is more important to me. You can guess why :P
I've been to most of the beaches here in Thailand. And I'm thinking of Samui... as I think there are some private bungalows available on the north side... a bit expensive but maybe worth it :P
But also interested in options that may be available elsewhere... Rayong?, Phuket? Hua Hin? or maybe Sattahip area.... too many people in Pattaya although maybe we would "blend in" there more easily.
Any suggestions....?
I'll do a field report later :P

Have you considered Koh Chang? Larger than Samui, less
developed than Phuket, closer to Bangkok and Pattaya than either, but not exactly inexpensive for a nice beach front bungalow.

I usually stay at the Amari, not bungalows but large, comfortable rooms. The resort is beautifully landscaped, and I really enjoy the 50 meter lap pool, which has floodlights for night swimming.
Just stayed there again last weekend in fact, price was 3100 for lagoon view room. seaview rooms are about 50% more. Expensive, but I really like the place. I live about an hours drive from the ferry pier. Have stayed at less expensive places, but didn't like them half as much. Stayed in a sea view room when the resort first opened 4 years ago when they were going for 7500 baht/night back then.
The girl at reception suggested I call the desk next time and I might be able to get a better price. Occupancy was only about 20%. It was my birthday last Sunday, and after breakfast and a swim, I was pleasantly surprised to find some personalized birthday cake in my room.
Also had the 60 minute oil massage in the Spa, but no happy ending here. LOL
Not primarily a mongers crib, I've gotten some interesting looks in the breakfast room when I brought girls with me that were less than half my age.
Plenty of available accommodations in all price ranges. Koh Chang is a great place to just kick up your heels and relax.

Coming late with a suggestion....
What about going south of HuaHin...After 150/200 kms of good road, you have huge beeches with a couple of nice places, right on the beach. I have been twice with TG to Bangsaphan, and this was perfect and rather cheap. But no night life, you are on your own..
