In many ways VN isn't as accessible as LOS if you want easy P4P. That said, if you are willing to put in a little effort, it can be very rewarding. I read a recent report by Bimmher and he hit the nail on the head-you either love this place or you hate it-there doesn't seem to be any 'tweeners.

Nice report hope you liked mine. FYI dispite my up and down loving and hating the place in the end I liked it.
I am also very sure I would like it a lot more a second time after getting my feet wet the first time.

Strangely enough I immediately loved Saigon and my first visits to Thailand where very dissapointing.
So far 9 times in Vietnam and 12 times in Thailand,, now tlove both, but still have bad memories about Phillipines ( Hoi yai mak mak "my attempt at THAI language", Cu khong bear "my attemp at Vietnamese" ).
AHHH if only I could spend 6 months a year in each???????
