Going there next week... hope we'll get better fun than roadblocks and corpses removed after bombings... Seems that the trouble is in the tamoul area though, will tell you if anything good happen - but no much hope, this country sucks bad!
Besides Galleface is asking twice what I paid a few months ago for the Royal Suite, while Hilton residences rent 3BR high floor panoramic views for the same rate as a 1BR. Hence looking for a roomate and young russian girls.
PS: Bokon, Ascott is hence a great place to stay BTW, just try and get a high floor.

Well... by noon the next day we'd checked in the Scandinavian Royal Suite in Galleface and solved some important issue with the custom department so mood was already better. Chinese GF had followed me there, Buddha bless her!
Yet I still don't like that country, no girls to be found when you work, even the servants are males, half the guys look like osama and they can't help saying "Inch Allah" every two sentences... when are they gonna understand that buyers need to be softened by cute smiles ? Not bearded jihadis... learn from the thais bros...
And outside the girls look like a wreck... such an ugly bunch... I've seen quite a few hookers in Colombo from various nationalities and you seldom meet even an half decent one... same for regular girls...sad place...
Add that travelling within the country is an hassle due to the terrible road... add to that travelling to and out of the country is another hassle due to terrible schedules - and totally old lousy J in sri Lankan airlines who have the fastest connection to Paris, but no First- and those are as many reasons to give that country a miss.
Lousy airport
Lousy service if your girl is by herself
Add in numerous military checks if you drive out at night
I hope your business there wil be good coz otherwise... well... that's one more country one could go on without knowing...

I thought my former post summed it up.I've been back for 10 days and Colombo was just a tad worse than usual. Felt safe but definetely more checkpoints than usual - especially for the South Asian games opening- and a bomb blew downtown the day before we arrived. There are some places where a bomb or two can't hurt though... Didn't fool around but there seemed to the the usual amount of girls in hilton lobby. Cinnamon just got renovated -it seems- and is the new nice hotel in town, on Galle road. Great lobby and prolly quite a few FLs, GF is chinese and she got accosted twice when she went there alone for a little while.
Basically go if you have something to do in Colombo, but like... something really important...
