It would be nice to see some Thais or Filipinas in the bars but that's just being greedy.
Color me greedy! Funny thing is, when I first came to DXB 6 years or so ago, the Cyclone HAD Filipinas, and Japanese!
Actually, I have got no room for complaints, as you mention, the quality and variety here are IMHO unmatched.

I agree with you mate. With so much variety around there is hardly any scope for complaints.

I am not clear how it works with the Chinese, some girls I got to know to really talk to had day jobs and seemed to be freelancing and had reasonable accommodation and appeared happy. Others have a far less comfortable conditions and one would suspect there are “bosses” in the background.
I had this regular Chinese who I went with for 8 months a couple of years back. She told me that she had arrived here to wrok in a shop. The chinese owner of the shop used to pay her very little This lady had to do accounts, take care of the shop, and also work as a "Hamaal" for the boss. Plus the boss had a 3 bedroom apartment where he was renting out rooms to WGs to entertain their customers. So sometimes she had to go and open the apartment for some WGs and their clients. This is where she learnt about the trade. I guess the ease with which the other ladies were making money tempted her and she started "working" herself. She continued to work for the boss but used her spare time to moonlight.
The boss knew about it because she usually took her clients to the same apartment. Probably felt safer there. But the situation got so bad that you could usually see a dozen or so chinese ladies out on the pavement outside that building and the place was raided and shut down. The neighbors probably lodged complaints.
This lady was her own boss and did not have to pay anything to her boss. She worked in his shop and got pittance for it and that was her only commitment to the boss.
CIS on the other hand are very rarely free. They usually have a boss or two in the background and have to pay a major chunk of whatever they make to the boss.
Indians are usually lured here on pretext of a job as a maid etc and sold into p4p market by the agents. Read today's 7days paper for an idea of what happens to them. I think the bangladeshis are also in the same boat. At least the CIS come here knowing what is expected of them.
Not heard of any Srilankan p4p. There are some Filipinas in the market too but not very visible. They have their day jobs and entertain only a few known customers. A friend of mine says he met 3 Filipinas the last time he was in dubai. Dont know much about them but hopefully when he comes back to dubai he will enlighten me.

Last night was a bit of a non event. I had no clear plan except a change was needed. I will be away from the middle of next week for a while and some action would be nice. The Cyclone was at the back I my mind as I have never been there, but its early so I decided to look in on Staying Alive. I avoided the 50 AED, 1 drink included charge.
It’s only 9:20 things look quite good, not busy yet but enough talent for starters. Unlike the York it’s light enough to see what’s on offer. Spot a very attractive blond in a stripy jacket and short skirt (8 with help from outfit, makeup, hairstyle), something different indeed, bookmark. She seems very clingy to here attractive friend (7). I wonder what the accommodation issues will be, given my place is out of the question.
I get the usual Chinese tag teams, in two cases the talkative one was a 6 with an 8 in tow, possibly split them up later??
New girl from Peking (here 10 days) comes over, probably a 6, she says “I don’t’ speak very good English, you be my teacher” – she is speaking it better than most, I decline.
A couple of CIS 3 or 4’s stop by, not for long. I am half interested in another CIS for her less than conventional looks, a bit closer, no probably not. Saw a girl who I would have begged as Indian or Pakistani but was probably CIS only a 4 at best though.
More Chinese stop by including some very nice ones. Indecision rules – the Blond? (Something inside is saying starfish), do split one of the tag teams? Do I try the unconventional looking CIS? In the end I decide to move on.
Next stop the York – it’s the usual Wednesday night zoo. I turn down the same Chinese girl I turn down every time I go to the York – I wonder why I always turn her down as I do find her attractive, I wonder why she hasn’t given up? She probably knows I will one day. Plenty of the usual faces, I am grabbed by Africans, spot Blue Top looking her usual alluring self, have a chat, still no chance here due to accommodation issues. I decide to move on again.
Rumors next, 25 AED entrance with 1 drink. Very quiet at first (it’s around 11) but begins to fill up. Saw a CIS I had booked marked and got a telephone number from a couple of months ago – WHAT was I thinking??? Not on my to do list any more.
A lone Chinese approached, Tall she must have been 5ft 10 (1.7m) in here moderate high heels. Good English, apparently has office job and only out on a weekend. Is visiting UK later in the year, has visa already. Lives alone in apartment, Attractive without being a stunner. Do I, don’t I? I am thinking tomorrow would be better; she is not forth coming with a phone number. In the end I decline. It’s still not busy, a few do-ables but I guess if I has really been in the mood I would have pulled long ago.
I leave alone. Some times it be that way.

I doubt the Emma we are refering to had any buns in her oven in the last couple of decades.
