Hello!
I stay in Bangkok for 1 month at the end of the year.
I planned a few trips, including Chiang Mai and I think about a trip to Saigon or Singapore.
I heard that it is very difficult to find a girlfriendly hotel in Saigon, also the police is a big problem.
Would anyone of you recommend a trip to Saigon or better to Singapore???

Hi Recoill,
I would suggest Saigon which is at least cheaper than Singapore. Have been many times in Saigon and never had problems with police, for girls you just need to go to mini hotels for about 20 usd for room. You can also take your girl to your 5 star hotel and take in your room not later than 10pm. Or just check in immediately with the girl. I did it sometimes.

Now that I am back home what do I think. If someone offered me a trip for 10 days to Saigon I would jump at the chance but if they said I could pick between Thailand and Vietnam I would pick Thailand.
If you have the time for a side trip I would recommend it. Dispite all my problems it still was a nice change and if I could go back in time I would still do the same thing. I don't regred trying Vietnam, it was just very different after being in Thailand for a month.

pussytraveller is right. Saigon is much better and cheaper than Singapore and I visited there every year and never have any problem with police.
You can bring girls to almost every hotels in Saigon before 10pm if the girl have a valid ID. I almost get into trouble one time when the girl using someone's ID. End up the girl told me she is only 16 and don't have a valid ID to shows. Sorry, Can't mess with girl under age in VN.
Some small hotel will let you bring girl over night. Ask before booking the room and don't be shy, they all know what we up tp. Some hotel even offer girl to your room at night (Hang Long at Tran Hung Dao in Q5).

I just came back from my third trip to Saigon a few weeks ago. The only reason I have gone back is that I met a nice non-working girl there on my first trip, and have been back to see her twice. Next time I will have her come to BKK.
VN is definately not Thailand at all. If it is your first time you can go to check it out, but it loses it's lustre if you are a girl hunter. There are some nice looking girls here and there, but not the per capita you will find in LOS. Also you will be hard pressed to find a VN girl with some nice tits. Which seem to be in abundance in LOS.
There is also the pain in the ass factor of people trying to constantly harass you, and sell you things when you are on the street. That gets old fast. You also need to watch your back more when out on the piss late at night. Taxis are more up for ripping you off late at night, and all of the bars close at 12. That is what really sucks. Yes, there are a few that stay open on one street. That is usually where you will find your working girls at.
The other downer for me is the Farangs that seem to be attracted to going or living in VN. They are a strange breed, and much different from your typical Thailand punter. Strange Backpackers, and wierdos abound.
None of the big hotels are going to let you get your VN Girl in your room. I stayed at the REX the first time, and they would barely let her stay in the lobby just because she was a VN girl (Looks like a school girl). Second trip I stayed at the New World. At least there they let girl in during the day time. This trip I just stayed at a real nice small hotel that did not have any problem with her staying with me the whole time. There were also a few biz people there. If you want the name of the place, I can get it for you. Very nice, clean, safe, etc. $25/night (Not a shitty place at all). It is close to the New World, and after hour bars.
Never any problem with the police, just stupid people trying to get your money, one way or another. Best advice, don't ever hire a Motorbike guy, or Cyclo driver, they will never leave you alone after that. Totally different then LOS. LOS is low stress compared to VN, and the people are a lot nicer.
Oh one last thing. If you do have a nice normal VN girl, you will constantly have people staring at you. No matter how innocent your girl looks, they are either thinking your girl is a working girl, or they are pissed that a white guy is with a VN girl. In LOS nobody really cares.

I am not a Cheap Charlie (Normally Stay at the Sheraton or Westin in BKK), but in VN I rather not have any hassles from a hotel. This place is a good no hassle place that is not a dive at all. I am sure you guys will be satisfied. There is also another hotel right next to it along the same lines. Don't know the name of that place.

Some hard numbers from my scientific visit a few weeks back!
The small "Numbers" Bars in the centre of HCMC (51, 71, 91 etc) all want 50K Dong (currently about 15,800 Dong to a USD) for a Lady Drink, 300K Dong for a Barfine (6 Lady Drinks) ! The Girls usually ask for 1,000,000 Dong for a LT as a starting price!
If you use a Mini Hotel which almost a prerequisite it will cost you $20 US! Most of the girls have there own favourite Mini Hotels were they trust the owners and will often not come back to Hotels they don't know!

Just finished seven days in Ho Chinh City and had what I would rate as a pretty good trip. Thanks to Bimher I stayed at a clean, reasonably priced hotel (Thinh Vuong).
I found myself converting the price of everything into HK dollars but after a few days had a fair idea if something was overpriced. Oz is spot on with prices but I found the girls much more aggressive or pushy for drinks than LOS. First bar I went into was U2 and the top had not even been taken off my first Heineken before I had two girls all over me and asking for a drink. At the same time a toothless apparition appeared in front of me and gave me a detailed rundown of what was available upstairs.
Next stop was a few doors down... a coffee bar with pool table... and again I had barely settled into a chair than two girls were detailing what was available. The base price was US$70. As well as buying any drinks for the ladies when it was time to leave, the hands were out for a tip. In each case it was 50,000 dhong for each girl.
In the bars along the backpacker strip (Lost in Saigon, Lili's etc) ladies drinks were 50,000 and one of the girls was keen to see my hotel room - for $70. A moto driver took me to an MP and the cost was 150,000 dhong for an hour, to be paid up front. Two girls gave me their undivided attention until I started haggling. One girl left in a huff and I had a reasonable blowjob for 300,000... which was paid upfront to the mamasan. The accompanying sighs and groans of "delight" were free!
Again, with info from Bimher's FR, I went to the Phuoc Lo Hotel in Q5. One hour was 50,000 dhong and the girl was fine with 400,000 for a decent BJ. A second shot was extra.
Without exception though, they were the worst massages I have had anywhere, forgetting the end result, being belted, slapped and jarred for about half an hour. Tried another massage place near my hotel and was directed to the sixth floor. Then got taken down a corridor, up some stairs and into a tiny cvhange room. A very unfriendly atmosphere and all I saw were guys and none of them spoke English to allay my fears that I had stumbled into a gay MP. Made a dash for the elevator and was assured by the receptionist that the massage would be given by a woman. The upshot was another pummelling for 20 minutes and then the girl gave me a ticket which I gather I was supposed to indicate the size of her tip (200,000, to 500,000). No mention of a happy ending, despite some graphic sign language on my part. So no happy ending but a smaller tip and general relief that I made it outside in one piece.
Two guys on a motorbike tried (unsuccessfully) to snatch what they thought I was a wallet in my hand. It was actually my stubby holder.
I was stalked by a moto driver for almost two days wanting 100,000 dhong because he said he had booked me a table at a restaurant and he had to pay for booking.
Anyway, there is something about young women wearing cone hats. Ho Chi Minh City is well worth a visit and in my opinion there is plenty to see and do. Probably not so much though, if mongering is your only intent. Just my humble opinion. I must thank Bimher and Buai for information provided.
I did just try the Ngo Cha Hotel website but couldn't raise it.
