Beside the fact that Switzerland in general has a very active and widespread red light scene, Basel is as Zurich a good place for some nice nights out.
My recommendation is the little but nice red light district of Basel. It is located in "Kleinbasel" which is at the other side of the river looking from the ancient center of Basel. Walk across that Bridge and at the other side turn left at the next crossroad. It should be "Untere Rheingasse" walk some meters in to the street and you will see some strip clubs l/h side, avoid these ! The strip clubs are rip offs! Go on and you will find what the Swiss call "Contact Bars". These are Bars which employ some 5 to 15 ladies from all countries (few Swiss or Western European, many East European and Latinas and even Africans) Always some sweet ladies available... The lady drinks are expensive though as is Switzerland in general. The final ST fee should be between 100 and 200 Swiss Franks.
The Contact Bars in that Area are in 3 minutes walking distance on 2 or 3 small streets (Gerbergasse, Ochsengasse). They are: Alter Schmitti, Roter Kater, Bermuda, Moulin Rouge, White Horse, Klingeli and Muusfalle. You may contact some of the fellow mongers there. The Swiss are very friendly people and will be happy to give you the latest info. Mine is slightly outdated, but somehow kept up to date by a Swiss forum I frequently visit just for Nostalgia...
There are also some large brothel typo things in that area, organized in all the apartments of normal apartment buildings, some even with Thai ladies. Easy to find - just look for the very obvious red light in the windows... You can save the Lady drinks here but everything will be more professional. The bars are more fun for a nice long night out...
Take some time to stroll the area, it's interesting!
