By the power of webmail I have discreetly kept in contact with some of the girls I have met in Dubai after they returned to the PRC. An old PRC regular of mine, who retired from the DXB P4P scene a while ago emailed me to say she had managed to get a visa and would be visiting some friends in the UK.
I arranged a bogus business meeting in London so I could meet her. There was a bit of stress when my flight from Dubai was delayed, but as it I arrived in London at the same time as the Beijing flight so no harm done.
When I met her she was still stressed from the journey and had been very worried about immigration, one thing that worried her was the hotel reservation I had sent her was in my name, not hers, but apparently she flew through immigration.
Once we were in the hotel she started to calm down, but remained a bit on edge for the rest of the evening. We went to Chinatown, found a restaurant where she had arranged to meet friends after I left so she could easily find it by herself. Then we went and eat in one of the many buffet style restaurants and had a couple of drinks. On the way back to the hotel she flirted with a bunch of lads, one of which had given up his seat for her on the tube, talking about some articles in the free Chinese newspaper she had picked up. It was a positive sign that she was starting to relax.
Next morning she was relaxed and back to normal. She charmed the Spanish cook into getting her some hot milk (he told her next morning how lucky her "husband" was when he came ask if she wanted hot milk again) and then she eat an astoundingly large English breakfast from the buffet, while enthusing about the bacon.
Suitably fortified we headed off to Windsor castle. This was a very wise choice as she was interested in the Royal family and British history. She was able get a commentary phone in mandarin which made the experience better for her and meant I had less explaining to do. We had one of the few comic howlers when she referred to Prince Phillip as "the duck of Edinburgh".
She was suitably impressed by the staterooms, which, let's face it, are designed to impress visiting heads of state. But it was the hall that impressed her most. "We don't have this, even in china". Quite a complement from one so proud of her heritage, she was always telling me all the wonderful things I have missed by not visiting China.
At St. George's chapel we were treated to the orchestra and choir rehearsing Mozart. She is a great lover of classical music, so it was very nice for her.
There was little time to do much else. I got her a U.K. "pay as you go" sim card, and found an internet cafe so she could email the number to a few people who may need contact her. We found a Chinese restaurant close to the hotel, she commented that some of the waitresses and wondered how they got work visas, she chatted to one for a while and said they were all on student visas, who knows?
So just a couple of nights in London, it was all over too soon. Once she had calmed down from the journey it was great to be out and about in a more open society than Dubai. Out of devilment we made a point of kissing in the street when a group of Arabs approached, not that they cared much but it felt good.
I left her to find her friends and I went and got my train back to Mrs BC. and to start some leave.

Postscript.
I managed to get a second meeting with my friend before she returned home. We shared a very pleasant 24 hours and did a bunch of touristy things that I would have never done on my own. I did wish I had picked a better hotel, it was pretty pokey and she was amazed that it was classified as a three star after seeing DXB three star hotels.
She said the PRC girls she met up with fell into two groups. Those working illegally in the UK on student visas for very low wages and living in pretty poor conditions, usually for Chinese businesses, or girls married to Brits and at least enjoying material comforts, it would seem that one ex DXB girl was it such a situation but it was a pretty loveless marriage with a much older guy. My friend concluded she did not like the look of either option!
As for me, meeting her away from Dubai was great. I wished I could have spent more time with her and shown her something outside of London, but I took enough risks as it was with bogus “business meetings” in London.
