Luang Prabang was predominantly gay the last time I visited. In fact so much so that a passing farang commented on me and the wife saying" A farang with a woman!! Thats refreshing"
I've never heard of Vienjun so can't comment.
Vientiaine has some fun to be had but nothing on the scale of Thailand's cities and Vieng vang is the place to go for drunken stoned backpackers.
Overall Laos is not a shaggers haven.

"Viengjun" is closer to the way the name of the capital of Laos is actually pronounced: something along the lines of "Wiang Chan," where the "ch" is not aspirated (more like the j in jump than the ch in chump).
Thank the French for the awful transliterations of place-names you find all over Laos and Cambodia.

Along the river past the boat ramp for the boats coming from PakBien on the right hand side opposite the river are 5 massage parlors with extras. Was there last March. Not sure how late they're open, but at 8pm they were offering extras with the massages, not that I partook, but they were offering, and some of them were somewhat cute. Walking along the river past the boat ramp it is not hard to find them, they're all together on two blocks.

Was just there two weeks ago. Low season is very quiet and it's a nice break from the crazy night life I left in Phuket. If you want a place to relax along the Mekong and are prepared to be in your room by midnight then please go. Take your own gal if you can because other than the massage joints mentioned there is really no crazy nightlife. Which was Ok as I was there to enjoy the UNESCO city. Low season is the time to go as there were not crowds and we had nice restauarnts on the river opposite the Mekong all to ourselves.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. True, that's the law, but it's very, very rarely enforced. This kind of bullshit statement crops up all the time on various pussy forums. When it does, I always ask the same question: did it happen to YOU? Or a friend of yours? Did someone YOU KNOW PERSONALLY get arrested for sleeping with a Lao woman in Laos?
