thai women are reserved and so difficult to strike up a relationship. i'm not talking about the 1% or so who work in the business.
it seems a good idea to try and make some contacts with women through email dating agencies from home before going out to thailand.
there are lots of agency offers on line - some v expensive. i've tried the free offer ones and tried to post my photo but it didn't get through.
does anyone have any experience of these email dating services? are any of them worth joining?

I put a profile on Frienfinder.com. I posted a few pics, and wrote a decent bio. I emailed the Thai girls who struck my fancy, sending my pic with it. I got about 8 responses, a nurse, a few students, a textile showroom sales rep, etc... I'm MSN chatting with 4 of them and will meet them next month. So it was a good investment of $19. I tried AsiaFF but didn't get any responses, but it was great for meeting girls when I went to China last year.

sounds like you're a fan of eMail dating CG, so maybe you can enlighten us next.
in my experience, the photos they send are of themselves about 10 years ago before kids and divorce..
chatting on-line is a better deal, if you both have web-cams
but unless you are serious about making a relationship and finding a wife P4P is much better for just getting a load off your mind

i have dated several girls from http://www.thaisingles.ch
almost all are "good girls" having jobs in offices and the like. I can say it was worth it. I had a go at 3 of them. but it definitely is more time consuming then nep.

Some girls may have recent shots, but I'll be very wary of the studio shots. Normally they'd be well made up and PhotoShoped enhanced. Seen too many of them. Nonetheless, still fun meeting them.

tried it once, in Tokyo, not BKK. I had to double check that the picture was of her when I had managed excuse myself from our first and only meeting.
I reckon she had spent a serious amount of photo editing before sending to me.
What made it worse was that I was spotted out with her by some girls from the office, one of which I really like. Can you believe it, the size of Tokyo, all of those people and I was spotted walking a dog.
So the advice about webcam is excellent. Mind you, there are more pretty girls in LOS than in Japan, so statistically you are in with a better chance.
I know a couple of guys with mail-order Thai wives, and they seem happy enough. I am thinking it could be a useful option when I have lost the little natural charm I currently have.
