Hi folks I wonder if you can give me some advice.
I am booked to head to Bkk in April. Initially I was scheduled to stay in Bkk on the 1st of April till the 5th of April, then head to Phuket (and spend some $$ on the lovely locals, considering what has happened) for 3 days. Now I am thinking this: Arrive in Bkk on the 31st and stay till the 3rd. Head out to Pattaya and stay there till the 5th. On the 5th I am scheduled to fly to Phuket till the 8th of April.
Now I know I don't have much time to do justice to any of these places but heh I wanna taste of it all. I have travelled to Bkk and Phuket before, but not alone...get my drift.
I wanna taste to nightlife in a places and have a ball.
What do you folks think?

Just get here and don't try to plan too much it will never work. They have another time space continuem in LOS..
Get yourself down to Phuket and enjoy... Plus you will be helping the local economy as well.

I agree with what TC said. You obviously need to have the first couple days squared away with hotel and such. Then go visit some nearby travel agent and work out the next few days.
Taxis to Pattaya can run somewhere around 800-1000 each way and walk-up airfares to Phuket are something like 2,000 THB each way so feel free to play it by ear. If you need to save some cash then try Thai Air Asia or just take the bus from the southern bus terminal. It might also help to have a list of hotels you'd like the travel agent to work with.
It took me three visits to reach Phuket. I'm glad I did though, and got a quick visit in just before everything went to shit.
As for warm and humid bit, well, let me just say that April is about the worst possible time to be in SEA. Head for Pattaya and Phuket and jump in the pool/ocean. Call somebody over and get a drink in your hand. That's the way to spend April in LOS. Personally, you won't see my ass anywhere near SEA in April unless there's a dirt cheap fare or the exchange rate doubles in my favor.

Good advice guys cheers. Now I knew April would be sticky in BKK but I hope bearable. I can only go during this time at the moment.
At the minute I have my hotel in BKK booked and my flight to Phuket booked...and hotel.
I have read some of the post regarding hotels and activities in Pattaya and have booked online at a hotel there (no credit card details passed)
Should I cancel my Phuket flight and chance purchasing a ticket when in BKK when I tire of the head in the city?

After the tsunami, I don't think Phuket is going to what you are looking for right now. Split your trip betweeen BKK and PTY and have a great time.

With only 7 days I think your planning to much, don’t forget that with the hassle of checking out of hotel, taxi, airport check in, flight, taxi, and check in hotel other side you have burnt away a day and there are much better places to spend a day in LOS than in Transit.
If it was me I would aim for a couple of days BKK then nowhere further than a Taxi/minivan ride away (Pattaya/Hua Hin) for a few days then one last fling in BKK before the flight out and the blues hit.

With 7 days, I'd spend my time in BKK and Pattaya. Pattaya is slower paced and things cost less. Its one big party atmosphere. Its only 90 baht to get a bus from BKK to Pattaya and it takes 2 hours.
