On my last trip to LOS one thing that sticks in my mind was the amount of people that I chatted to in bars that claimed to be a serving or former member of the elite forces ( SAS / SBS / Seals etc etc)
Granted there are quite a few Veterans of various countries fine armed forces kicking about, but surely these covert commandoes would be a bit more discreet.
Any brothers have any tales of meeting and even uncovering some of these frauds on your travels ?

Met a guy in NEP who claimed to be ex SAS, he was now working as a security manager for the British Embassy in Bangladesh, and took his breaks in Bangkok (who can blame him). He had a business card from the Embassy to prove it. Seemed very genuine to me.
