Almost all go-go bars in Thailand play it, the typical go-go bar dance music without lyrics and with this drum rif (trtrtrt-trtrtrt) every 30 secs. Anyone knows name of artist/songs or where to find this type of music? (off-line or on-line). Thanks.

You can check the night market at Huay Kwang or Khao San Road for the CD's. Just ask the vendor what club you have been to and they will get you the same style CD if not the actual music from the club. I bought some Caribbean Club music at Huay Kwang.

Ask the dj if he will make a cd for you. If he has the gear, he will, for a small fee.

pretty much most of the RCA series of CDs available for 199 baht have the sort of music played in the gogo bars. try that.

Quote: from ABC on 10:37 am on Mar. 14, 2005 I'm not sure what type of music you are refering to, but I think it's called "trance / house" music.
Yeah I was in some go-gos over the weekend and was rather surprised that they were playing hard house/trance. When I was a go-go regular they used to play dire straits, pink floyd, Nirvana etc.. The songs without lyrics are mostly 'trance' - sounds kind of anthemy. Go into any CD store and ask for CDs from any of the following: 1 Tiësto 2 Paul Van Dyk 3 Armin Van Buuren 4 Sasha 5 John Digweed 6 Ferry Corsten 7 Carl Cox 8 Paul Oakenfold 9 Judge Jules 10 Deep Dish If that is too complicated just buy any Ministry of Sound album that doesnt have 'Chill' on the front.

-------------------------------------------------------------------- When I was a go-go regular they used to play dire straits, pink floyd, Nirvana etc.. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, it was a festival to hear 'Money for Nothing' for the eight time on that evening... I do believe that there are still bars where they play that kind of music from yesteryears in SC and Patpong. I remember those songs in Queens Castle for 20 consecutive years...
