Suppaporn....wow... what a system......
Me, I started with a "general" interest in culture, religion, philosophy, an interest sparked in part by myth and some fact imparted by "Asian Beauties" skin mag. Initially I checked some books out of the library, then,(seriously) began to study Buddhism, then began to hint to wifey that I wanted to visit the temples. I took plenty of pictures to justify what I did, and after about the 3rd visit, began to get creative. Thus far I've traveled to Thailand for 1) a saxaphone, 2) dental work for cheap, and 3) a very lame excuse to set up an import buisness.
If none of these ploys work, take ccvvbb's advise. Har,Har....

For those who have problems explaining to their mates back home that there is more to Thailand than p4p, you may find interesting sending them to Telenor's website (Telenor is Norway's largest telco) http://www.telenor.com or to their quarterly financial report:

Interestingly, you will find that the first page of the report is a picture of two Thai children (or Malay?). For those who do not know it, Telenor is DTAC's foreign partner.
Despite the Thai connection, I still find it interesting that Telenor would put a picture of Thai children in the home page of its website as well as in the cover of its financial report. I think it rocks!! Way to go Telenor!!
