During my last trip to Thailand I picked up my "current" TGF and took her to the Bangkok Flower market. I think the hours are 10p-6a. This was the first time she had been to the flower market and if you have never been I highly recommend a trip. The flowers are beautiful and dirt cheap. I purchased a vase and two handfulls of flowers for about $5 US. 40 roses were the crazy price of about $1 US. She also picked up two big bags of flowers to take to Budha the next day. Needless to say it was a very romantic night and worth the trip. Something I imagine most of the working girls have not experienced. Something special between just the two of you and something she will not forget. I also took a couple of special flowers for the cute girl at the front desk of my hotel. You never know when that kind of action can pay dividends down the road.

I would ask the concierge or the front desk at your hotel. I had the address written in English as well as in Thai for the taxi driver. I think it was about a 5-10 minute drive.
I did a google search and this site has a few pictures as well as a map. Hope this helps. I believe this is the market I went to but the pics are daytime pictures. I'm pretty sure the market I visited was only open from 10p-6a. Still not a bad idea to get the directions from the hotel in Thai. They will know about the Bangkok flower market.

Hmmmmmmm - i'm not sure that everyone here quite got my point - my TGF is NOT a bargirl - she is a respectable woman with a "proper" job so I cannot see any gold going back to the shop (am I being naive ? )
Maybe that concept goes way over so many heads on here but who cares - a woman is a woman.

Gold going back to the shop is not limited to bg, there are many pawn broker - it is seen as hard currency where most people live day to day excistance.
Whether she still has it also depends on her personal situation, children, mum, dad, or any other family members.
Gold given to a woman not a bg would be given upon marriage so unless you plan to marry this trip why buy gold but up to you.
if you marry, and especially if she is a virgin  you will have to fork out 1 or 2 baht
in gold.
Actually any small token is good, shopping is cheap at Mk buy her a frock and some accessories and she would probably be chuffed.
if you immediately buy gold she will think you are a millonaire, also her family -are you -------????

as time goes by, you will learn that there are alot of grey areas in the "good girl - bad girl" concept. don't worry, enjoy the ride, but don't get too involved emotionally right from the beginning. many brothers have been burnt at one point or another, but still enjoy the land of smiles with all its beauty errrr beauties....

I'm open minded with women - when i'm with them they are the only girl in the world and I treat them as such (and I would include BG/MPG in there too which incidentally I plan to have a "im tired after a long flight I really ought to get to bed early" evening of fun when I get to BKK - I just pray that i'm NOT tired after a long flight.
That flower market looks a great way to make a nice inexpensive gesture.
