I think u have to look really why is he staying there. It can be so that your gf telling him to stay but she does not tell you. Tell him that you want to help him and that you will find his wife and you'll try to get her to return to the marital home. But first he's got to stay with his pals (he has friends, right?) then ask for his contact 'phone number and tell him it will only take a day or two.
After he buggers off with the kid to give to it's granny he can then doss-down at his pal's place. Meanwhile, get yer missus to contact her sister and tell her what's happened then she can decide what to do from then on and hopefully you wont see either of them again.
However, most likely they'll be back in a month or so, all luvy-duvy and sayin' how happy they are together and how much they want to come and stay with you. Then you just smile and say you're too busy to see them, ever!

- Tell him to leave
