I find tatoos utterly repulsive. When I go the gym I see so many ugly tatoos on these old fat guys and they are disgusting. The older you get the worse it looks and the colors do not meld well with old flesh. I notice that girls are getting it younger and younger and alot of Asian-American girls are doing this. People get tatoos for a variety of reasons. When I used to teach in juvenille hall, I used to see all the gang tatoos, esp the tear drops (Mex Mafia). Guess what? You mark yourself for life as a scumbag and you are the first one the cops go after, and rightly so. I would. However, I do respect and even admire tatoos that religious and traditional such as those worn by the Maoris, Tongangs, Fijians, Hawaiins, Thais, and the military. In Iraq, alot of the soldiers tatoo their dogtagas under their left breast. This is the most heavily armoured part of a soldier and the most likely piece of flesh to be intact in a grisly death. They also tatoo the dogtags on the soles of their feet. Pretty smart!!!!

None on me but I have wanted one for a very long time. Birth sign on the back upper left or right shoulder in a circle. Why? Don't know have wanted it for a while. I know what I want, maybe if I find the right tattoo artist that I trust will do a good job I will get it done. I figure if you want it and put if off for a long time and still want it done after a few years then you will probably will not regret it. The only thing that has stopped me is they tend to fade depending on the colour used and I wonder what it will look like in 20 years. Guess I would just have to get it touched up over time. If you want one on the spur of the moment (like your girlfriends name or something stupid like that) and get it done well you might regret it later. With mine I would consider it a work of art and a statement about who I am. What I want is not about someone elso but about me. Tattoo's I don't think are a fad as they have been around for hundreds of years. Also you can get them removed but it does cost a bit. Now that I think about it my Birthday is comming up and maybe I will give myself a present. bimmher

As I suspected most of the members will not have any..i got 3, 2 on my left and right uppers arms, one on my biceps. The first 2 I made long time ago when I was 18 and 19 years old, wild time before and in the army. The last big one made in Chiangmai few years ago. No regrets, I like it and it's kinda part of my body.

I'm glad someone finally asked. I've been having an awfully good time with my sole tattoo ever since I got to Thailand. You see, mine is a dead ringer for a woman's lips- in the form of a lipstick smudge -on my ass cheek. It's subtle enough that many of the massage girls don't even notice it, but, when they do, invariably their first reaction is to try and wipe it off due to their thinking it's a real lipstick mark. I got it back in the mid-80's and sorta forgot about it. Till I got here, that is. Nowadays, what with all the oily's I like to get here, it makes for several good laughs a week it seems. Jing jing!
