Everybody !
I' m a french guy, I don't like muslims for religious and cultural reasons, I am one of the rare "Bush-supporters" in my country but I'm not racist and I have some christian arab friends (catholic or orthodox from Lebanon and Syria).
I like to go to Grace Coffee shop because I look after chubby hookers, thai or other, who are numerous there. I have never had any problem. I order my drink, I look the girls, I chat with some of them, I don't care about the arab men. Sometimes, one of them ask me some fire, I lend my lighter to him and the relation stops immediatly after he gives it back to me !
I have not tried the oriental disco but I have visited one in Pattaya. No hassle. I have an european look with a military haircut and a gold cross around my neck. No problem...
Don't worry about this places. Things are may be different when some of us are in group and drunk...

The whole thrill of being in Bangkok is tasting all the world has to offer.
Arab - Jordainian - New Yorker, Brit or Aussie - who gives a $%#@%.
Spent may an early morning rubing elbows with the flavors of the world at the Grace - if you want and expect 5 star - don't go.
Don't let politics get in the way of your good time.

When one (or two) of the above want to skin me alive, I do.
In 30 some years in travelling around the globe, 24 living as an ex-pat in various countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the only time I've encountered more open hostility than at the Grace was when I came under fire in a few war zones.
It has nothing to do with politics, only common sense. I want people to have a good time in Bangkok too, that's why I advise staying away from the Grace. I, too, have good memories from the Grace many years ago, but it's very different today.
Unless you have either a heavy masochistic bend or an incredible ability to make friends very quickly, I still say don't go to the Grace.
