OK, reading your original post again with your clarification, I think your initial reaction and response was sensible and mature. You wished them luck when the guy said he is going to mary her.
The guy wants to control her, so he is obviously insecure, for good reason or not - we do not know, maybe you do.
Obviously he has no claim on you to follow his directions.
Why not just tell him so and put him on ignore. Escalation of threats and / or violence is hardly required here.

That should calm him down.
Honestly, how the hell do people expect random threats of violence to change peoples likes or dislikes,,,,
A threat like that would just make the whole situation more interesting/amusing if it happened to me.
Do you have pictures of yourself and her together??? on holiday,, perhaps lying in bed together??, be kind and send him some copies
Maybe best to just ignore the loser.

How should you react if someone who neither knows you, nor is able to reach you, threatens you? Why do you even have to ask? Isn't it obvious!
You ignore both - if you want to make a point of it, then you send a text message and an identical email, letting them know that you are deleting his and her phone numbers and email addresses, and that it is up to them now - you will not be able to contact them any further, unless they contact you again.
Then, do as you said, and move on. Some carriers allow you to block certain phone numbers, and you can certainly set up an email rule to automatically delete incoming mail from either of them.
Done!

Quite honestly, I wouldn't handle it.
If the guy has a problem about his own feeling of security, then he will have to work it out without me.
I am out of the picture as far as the girl is concerned.
he is of no consequence to me.
I do not know him
I'd put their e-mails into the junk folder to be cleared and would not answer their calls.
They would soon get the message that I am of no concern to them.
( That is, if you are telling us the whole and complete story.)
