i would go for option 2.

which offers you the brand, the recipes, the know how and all the experienced staff.

also I would like the current owner/chef to stick around for a couple of months.

I walk by this cafe/restaurant almost every day and have eaten there several times.

it has been voted "best vegetarian restaurant in thailand" several years in a row.

however a restaurant is very time consuming. you have to go to the market very early in the morning, and then work your ass off til midnight.

also the 4 luxurious condo towers being built next door will bring additional clientele http://www.milleniumsuites.com

they should be finished by june next year.
