The show is good at the Snake Farm (11:00 & 14:00). BTW pushed on the door to the King Cobra cage last trip and to my surprise door unlocked. Inside 4 King Cobras (One 14 feet long). Nothing surprises me in Thailand.

How about Dental Work, sounds exciting eh. Spent numerous days getting drilled and filled. Need new glasses? Thailands the place.
Highly recommend the Temple of the Golden Buddha, buy prayer beads, they're blessed. Biggest damn hunk of gold this happy poster has ever seen. The Wat Pho is an exquisitely beautiful place to tithe away the day. Please wear long pants and shirt though or the not so friendly guard will take you to the loaner room, and you'll look foolish walking around in illfitting clothing.
The Weekend market is cool, take the BTS to ON NUT, end of the line, to Tesco Lotus, or lotusland as I call it, and shop and shop, good cheap food center too.
Last trip I spent an entire day in Chinatown shopping for musical stuff, haggling with the chinese shop owners, getting fantastic deals on musical items.
Like Mr. Supp said, drink plenty of water.

The Shrine behind the Hilton Hotel is very interesting and free. ÝIt's some kind of fertility shrine and has hundreds of carved penis's of all shapes and sizes. Some over six feet tall.
While at the Hilton walk the gardens around the pool it is like a jungle, quite nice for a pleasent stroll with your Tilac. ÝIf you get thirsty you can have a beer at the pool bar while gazing at the waterfall. ÝThe draft beer will set you back 200 baht and was warm the last time I imbibed there.

Cycling through the jammed streets of Bangkok may seem like a hazardous undertaking, but is the best way to tour this colourful city.
Instead of gazing out a hotel window, many tourists take to cycling to gain insight into a cityís culture. Traversing back paths from the seat of a bicycle can open up hidden sights to the adventurous traveller. But bicycles in Bangkok? Residents of the city might think you are crazy trying to manoeuvre a bicycle in Bangkokís mean traffic-laden streets.
But Co van Kessel, a Dutch cyclist, took his bike through the streets of Bangkok for ten years and found a way to outsmart the traffic by zigzagging through the small alleys of shophouses and narrow lanes. After exploring all of Bangkok, he set up a cycling tour from the heart of Sukhumvit to Phra Pradaeng and Bangkrajao in the outskirts of the city.
Kessel has left Bangkok, but his tour continues under the operation of Real Asia Ltd, managed by Michael W Ph Hoes as CEO and tour leader. The Dutchman swears he does not need a car, as he has to cycle around town daily with groups of tourists.
Departing from the Tara Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 26, the bike leader takes cyclists to the main street of Sukhumvit, passing through the Emporium and its carpark, then cutting into Sukhumvit soi 22. Long-term residents of Bangkok will not believe their eyes when they discover an almost forgotten path off Sukhumvit road.
When it comes to negotiating city streets, Michaelís trick is to stop the bike and wait, then cross the road quickly at the moment when the traffic slows down. Drivers are hostile to cyclists, so cyclists need to be considerate and smart enough to avoid threatening situations. As an experienced Bangkok cyclist, he says it all comes down to common sense.
ìActually, you need only basic cycling skills,î says Michael.
But have you ever cycled through the wet market in Khlong Toey? Itís a jumble of narrow slippery paths crammed with hurried housewives shopping for dinner. Cyclists have to be very careful not to send people sprawling to the ground, so the best option is to get off the saddle and walk. A stop is made at a small bike shop near Khlong Toey Market to check the bikesí condition before crossing into the green outskirts of Bangkok.
Across the Chao Phya River is Phra Pradaeng in Samut Prakan province. There, a network of elevated concrete pathways criss-crosses the area from Phra Pradaeng to Bang Namphueng and Bang Krajao. To cycle along these metre-wide pathways, you have to slow down before taking a turn, or you may end up floundering in the muddy ground below. This part of the city is known as the lungs of Bangkok for its green scenery. The tour group spends a few hours slowly biking through the area, meeting the locals and exploring the temples along the way.
When the time comes to leave Phra Pradaeng, Bang Krajao and all their charms, cyclists reluctantly board boats to take them back to the hectic city centre.

No Micky I haven't tried it... but I do have ABC's brochure, and I scanned it and sent it to our ABC (the forum member ABC) asking him what he was doing in BKK leading cycle tours, lol.
I spoke to other (Dutch) people who took the tour and they were quite enthusiatic (it was them who gave me the brochure) but said they would have covered as much ground walking in the same amount of time. ÝIt just ain't my thing in those temps and that biz. ÝI feel safer walking. ÝEven in Phucket where I rented a mountain bike it was very "iffy" and I took it back after a few days.
If you do do it... be VERY careful. ÝBKK/LOS drivers aren't like Dutch drivers... they don't EXPECT to see bicycles. Ý(if that makes sense??? Ýthe're not used to bikes the way we are here).

If your in nice hotel some show...ride river boats..same same........go to gym same same.......Then have a bj... and go home and watch the e-mails from a pretty counter girl or uni student come in, a hot way to get fresh fly by nighters..... ofcourse sleep is the wisest thing also

I will make a donation at a local wat before cycling off. And as far as I understand the tour does not cover that many major thoroughfares, where the traffic is heavy. Besides, as most of the traffic is in constant gridlock it is easier to get around on a bike than by car. Have to look out for motorcycle taxi's though.
Man my trip get's so crammed full of things I have to do or want to do, I get myself wondering if can do them all.
X, did you get that brochure in BKK or here in Holland?
Anyway, as I need some 'respectable' photo's of Thailand and BKK I think this exactly the way to get them. Cannot tell the folks at home what i've been up to now, can I  . If I make lots of pictures (digital camera) it may seem that I've visited more places than I've done. And pictures of Pattaya and semi naked Thai girls do not endear me with the general public back home.
How do you guys cope with this problem, or do you tell all and sundry you go to Thailand to have a 2 to 3 week f_ckfest? Anybody?
