Spec Ops vets do not brag. They are pros and are very proud of their service. They only need to prove this to themselves, their foes, and their mates, no one else.

I'm a civilian -- always have been and always will be, but I've had the good fortune to have a few current and ex-SpecOps types as friends or acquaintances over the years. And no, I have no interesting affiliations with that line of work either; a few used to hang out at the same blues club I do, and one worked w/ me at a software company some years ago. A wannabe or a poser I am not.
I always get a kick out of the guys who say they're ST6; 6 hasn't been called that since the late 90's; it was blended into what's now called Naval Special Warfare Development Group. Or the guy who said he was with ST4, and based in Coronado. 4 is an east-coast team; odd numbered teams are west coast, evens on the east.
If they're going to lie, they ought to at least spend a few minutes on Google to gt it right!

I was an Ovaltinie. Radio Luxembourg had a programme devoted to us in the days when the signal faded in and out. Special forces had nothing on us mate, we even had our own secret code.
Actually I've never met anyone else who was in the Ovaltinies, well not that they ever admitted to it anyway. See that's how professional we are. I've met lots of SAS down Soi Cowboy and they brag something rotten. Amazing how many SAS operatives have beer bellies. They should have stuck to Ovaltine.
