On the subject, one case always comes to mind, Had a woman from the UK want to check on Husband - sure enough, went to see him board the plane for the flight home, and there to se him off, and of course with her hand out was an absolute stunning TG - reported details back to wife,
Couple of days later, got an e-mail from Hubby.... Expecting, ah-la- Mr Alan, a bit of abuse - what I got was...
Thanks for helping bring a sticky situation out in the open, I admire the proffessional way you handled my wifes request.... CAN I NOW HIRE YOU, to check on my new TG whilst I am back in the UK finalising my affairs !

Heard a new one the other day.
But I really should post it in the appropriate (SCAMS) thread.

1) Falang takes BG out for a few drinks.
2) Falang drinks a bit too much. = Drunken Falang (DF).
3) BG eventually steers the DF to an ATM.
4) DF takes out cash from ATM while BG holds him up at the same time clocking his pin number.
5) BG makes a big fuss over counting his money and putting it away safe because she take care of him…
Then she leads him off away from ATM before he collects his card...
·Remember at most ATM’s in LOS (if not all) first the money appears then the card.
·In Europe first the card pops out, then the money appears.
I know which one I prefer… I don’t know of anyone who has actually left the cash in an ATM!
6) BG's friend (in background) lifts the card from the ATM and disappears…
Bingo between them they have won the Lottery!
It was so slick...
While he was screwing the BG, her friend was busy screwing him via a spending spree. New cell phones all round.

Wheels within wheels.
I get money from the ATM before I go drinking and I leave the card back in my in room safe. BG never ever get's to see me get money. I leave 1K in 100 baht notes in the safe so I can pay in the morning.

Of course not always safe in the Hotel room safe either Big D... Remember one Hotel that the Farang Manager called me into work with, had a few complaints of $$ gone from the safes, - it was the old fine oil over the keypad of the room safe trick... when Mr farang went out, one of the maids would then come back and check the safe, only 3 or 4 keys would have been touched, and didnt take too long then to usually get the combination -

You had mentioned that a long time ago, oil on the keypad. I leave a wad of toilet paper on top of the safe and wipe it down everytime I use it.

If I know "BTFMemberA" personally as a friend or colleague then ethics come into the equation!

a) Tell him his wife is trying to catch him!
He may then tell me to proceed and paint him squeeky clean. After all its probably his money anyway.
b) Ignore it as it's not my problem!
He may find out that I was aware of the situation, when she employs someone else to burn him. Then were do I stand?
c) Tell his wife I know him and I can't betray him!
That way she may give up on the idea and save his money.
My answer has been PM'd to BK and will be revealed in due course.
I am interested in what you would do...

Well on the first quote that is a very good and hard question.
a) No I wouldn't tell him. You are running a biz and your part on this forum is personal. Best to keep the two separate. Now if I was the guy I would really want you to tell me but I would understand that you couldn't.
b) No not ignore as she will just use another firm to do the work. Also what reason would you come up with that she would believe for not taking the case? I guess you could just say you are to busy. This option I think I would consider taking if you think she will believe why you can't take the case.
c) Well not in those words. I would just say I know him and it would be a conflict of interest. The best option I can find is this one.
d) An option you didn't mention. Take the case. Hand it off to a worker or another PI and take a cut of the fee. Let someone else do all the work who doesn't know the guy and is not a member of the board. Report back the findings to the wife that the PI found out about him. This would put you at sort of at an arms length transaction. The job would get done but your involvement would have no effect on the outcome.
Now on the second quote.
Good info never heard about that one. I always thought a small combo travel safe that you could put in the hotel safe would be a good product? Anyone know of a product like this? Something like those cash boxes you can buy but with a combination lock you can set instead of a key.
