I think the thread is fine. Just telling some anecdotical stories without any real info.
Now TPE, number 7, the one about the horse doesn't sound that far fetched. But what sounds weird is the client wanting many horses tested. Wasn't it one horse he was concerned about?
Now that job would have done for a nice change for you. A distraction from your typical target. From one animal to another: from pussies to horses.
Lets just say he was beating a dead horse... Or he was seeking a (supposed dead horse).
Edit: This was supposed to be a covert operation. Hence the "Covert (Ninja style) enter a horse breeding establishment and take mouth swabs of each horse to have a DNA check done later to establish if a horse had died or was still alive and being put to stud! "
I backed out as it was way beyond our capabilities.
And I was also advised that there were some heavy people involved in this matter, so I should keep out of it!

Its also called advertising - we now have a better idea of the services available. Maybe that was the intent - if so or if not - I don't care.
Members of this forum are hopefully unlikely to become customers - we are however likely to be people who may need to refer someone else - "Hey, you go to Thailand all the time. Let me tell you about this girl I met....etc"
Personal referrals - a better "strike rate" than stickers on the hand-dryer at the airport any day. (Good location though TPE - International departures)

As far as the stickers in the toilets! Are they still there?
My predeccessor used that direct marketing method in the beginning to promote TPE and it proved very effective.
I have not had to do that so far, maybe I should consider direct marketing again...

Re # 7, Did this some years ago, pretty basic, of course you need blood samples for correct DNA, as mouth swabs dont last long in the humidity, I got a couple of Thai friends, the usual array of clipboards, put on the white coat, and said I was from the US and we were checking for a strain of foot and mouth - took the samples needed, but for sure a case would not have gotten far, I didnt follow up on the end result.
All racehorses in Thailand are SUPPOSED to be bred in the kingdom, however one guy in particular, who just happens to be very close to mr Taksin, has found that US horses do not have the usual shoulder brand that Thailand and Most countries use on thoroughbreds, they lip brand them, hence he could import a US horse from Hollywood park, say it was for equestrian use, then put on the same brand as one of his slow Thai breds, and Wallah ! an overnight form reversal !
Suffice to say, the 'Alleged' breeding of Thai thoroughbreds is a complete minefield, which as TPEII points out, allowing for the heavies involved, is best left alone -

Ok, I’m back...
Never a dull day in LOS!
There are some angry vindictive people out there...
Here are a few recent incidents to get you guys thinking...
1) A woman recently contacted TPE, concerning her husband’s business trip to BKK and her suspicions of his infidelity. Let’s call her case the "Revenge of a Woman Scorned!" Ouch!
To cut a long story short we completed the assignment successfully and presented the report to her thinking that was that!
She came back a few days later and made us an offer that we just had to refuse.
She wanted me to, in her words "capture the BITCH! Slap her around a bit, tell her to keep away from my f***ing husband and then shave her f***ing hair off! Then she can't work in a bar for a long, long time!” Nice lady!!!
Needless to say we refused and then we got the brunt of her pent up anger! In her words we were "protecting these home breaking little slant eyed sluts"... Woops! I wonder what HIS home life is like at the moment...
2) Then there was the case of the "Angry Old Man"!
His Thai Wife (half his age) emptied their Thai bank account (what else is new) and also sold their (read her) house (unknown to hubby) under a pre arranged deal, to her parents through some friends of a cousin or some other a family member who knew exactly what they were doing.
All this happened while he was back in farangland on an extended trip to tie up all the loose ends, and in his words "sell my car, put the dog to sleep, and say farewell to my friends and family", brothers, sisters, children, etc. Then he would complete the retirement move he had been working on and saving for, for almost five years.
He told me he took her to court (no choice) and she was found guilty of some minor offence. She was ordered to pay him 50% of the value of the house and the bank account. But as she did not have any assets herself (cash has gone and the house is now in parents name) she was given 10 years to pay! That was 3 years ago and he has not received a single Baht!
This guy is now almost 63 years old and he does not want to hang around for the next 7 years waiting for his hard earned retirement money. So he contacted us to see what we could do to help him. Our lawyers went over the legal documents and court findings and we told him your f***ed mate!
So with that he advised me that he wanted our lawyers to be prepared to seize her assets immediately after she (ex wife) inherits the property!
When I reminded him that in order for her to inherit the house they both (parents) have to be dead and it must also be stipulated in a will.
He said "so arrange it all then"...
Even though I felt really sorry for him, it was right then I knew that he would be trouble with a capital T!
Even if he was just venting his anger verbally he could get me into a load of deep shit. So we cut all contact with him. I did warn him against doing anything rash and stupid and I hope he took my advice.
3) One guy who shall be known forever as the "Devious Dad".
He contacted us to get the dirt on a particular girl on behalf of his "American business partner/friend". It all turned out to be a load of bollocks as there was no "friend" involved...
After several weeks of close covert surveillance, we found her to be a hard working shop assistant, going about her daily life and taking computer classes in the evenings and on her days off. We reported this to the client but he was adamant about getting some dirt on her, he even wanted us to entrap her. I decided against setting her up, so I had one of our Thai female operatives befriend her.
Over a period of a few months we found out the real truth! Her long time "Farang Husband" and father of their child had taken their 3 year child away to farang land, with out her permission. The whole thing was pre-planned as he had arranged the little girl’s passport or maybe had her entered on his passport! We never did pursue that avenue to find out.
There was obviously a personal problem between them both and now there a custody problem. He wanted TPE to prove that the mother was unfit to care for the child for his own gain. Once I challenged him old him we knew what he was up to he ignored us and we never heard from him again.
4) There was the case of the Disgruntled Female Employee.
We received an email from a woman about a particular person who is (in her words) was a danger to young girls... Now I should add here that her definition of "young girls" and mine are very different. But she did get my attention.
When I asked her what age group these "young girls" would fall into she said around 18-20 years old. It was obvious that she (potential client) was much older...
She must have been reading up on Thailand especially Bangkok and it's seedier side and when this person (the target) announced he was going to Bangkok on a business trip she put 2 and 2 together and came up with 69!
She told us the name of the hotel where the seminar would be held. At first I thought it was his wife, but as it turned out he was single and it was his secretary who had contacted us. That is why she had his travel itinerary right down to the last detail.
We discovered all this through a simple background check on her. We try to check out the client first to make certain we are not being dragged into a shit storm. You never know who is out there.
Fortunately she used her real name on her private email account to contact us. Once we checked up on the company website and discovered that the CEO was the target, and that she was also his personal secretary, we put 2 & 2 together and challenged her motives.
She admitted that she hated the thought of her boss coming to Bangkok to "fool around" and this together with his "attitude towards her" had pushed her over the top and she wanted to ruin his business trip. I firmly told her that we can not help her.
I have no idea why she had this problem and I did not really care, but my guess is she had a crush on him and he was not interested in her.
Finally (for now at least)
5) The last one is entitled “Very Vindictive Medallion Man!”
Normally I don’t meet with clients for obvious reasons! But this guy was quite insistent. Plus he wanted to pay good money for the privilege of talking to me!
I thought why not so I met him. On my turf!
Prior to the meeting, I checked him out and he seemed kosher or at least his background checked out.
He was a successful business man in Farangland and he had bought himself a real nice (Expensive) Condo.
This guy appeared to be quite wealthy and he wore his wealth on his sleeve…
He wore designer clothes, sported a Rolex, a real one with the diamonds, a large diamond ring on his finger and a very large, very ugly, gold chain round his neck with a diamond studded medallion.
It looked really over the top, but hey whatever turns you on.
Anyway to cut a long story short we had our meeting, where he explained that the last time he was due to leave LOS to go home, he left his girlfriend alone in the Condo for 10-15 mins while he went down to secure his own car in the underground garage, and she robbed him big time!
First I explained she is NOT your girlfriend mate!
Apparently, when he returned for his suitcase his TGF was gone! She was supposed to take him to the airport but instead she had robbed him of all his cash and jewelry!
He panicked and jumped into a taxi to the airport so he did not have time to go to the police as he had a plane to catch. Or so that was his excuse… He thought he would sort it out with her upon his return 2 weeks later… Yeah right!
He said she took about $USD2, 000.00 in cash! About $USD 2,5000.00 in Gold and jewelry plus another 200,000 Baht in cash that he was about to put in the safe in his room. After he had left her some pocket money…
Now in the real world I can imagine carrying round such amounts of cash or valuables, I've done it myself on occasions. But LOS is not the real world.
I asked him WTF are you doing leaving all that cash and jewelry around for her to see? He said,” but she never seemed to notice it!”
I told him Bollocks! She probably knew how many coins were in your pocket, and even their denominations each and every day…
He then said “I sometimes left a little cash lying around to test her honesty! I loved her and I thought she loved me! I would do anything for her, give her anything she wanted and she knew it… I gave some money for her family to build a house; I even brought her a f***ing car!”
I said ok fine but leaving all that cash and gold is not “a little cash”. You just flushed her out that’s all. She showed her true colors...
It could have been worse, you could have married the bitch and then she would have stuffed you for your Condo, child support and maybe more… You got a lucky escape mate.
But he was not having it. He blamed her “Thai boyfriend for making her do this to him!” And he wanted revenge… He wanted him killed!
Theft, Thai Boyfriend Love Triangle, Murder! This is getting too complicated now…
I told him very sorry, I am not in the revenge business so just chalk it up as life’s experiences and leave it at that. Revenge will only come back and bite you…
But he said "I heard it’s possible to buy a hit on someone for a few thousand dollars in Thailand."
I told him in no uncertain manner we are NOT in that business and we never will be! Then we had some small talk and he left a very distressed and angry man.
I thought that was the end of it. Boy was I wrong!
Less than two weeks later, he called me again. This time he wanted me to find a farang for him and "get his money back!"
I said WTF! What money are you on about now?
Then he told me he had been "introduced to a guy, by someone in a bar who could help him with his first problem, but now the 2nd guy refuses to honor his contract!" and he wants me to put pressure on this 2nd guy...
Jeeez it just gets deeper... I thought f*** this guy has been asking around in bars for a hit man and he wants me to get in the middle... f*** that!!!
I could not believe it when he told me. But he was dead serious. He offered me even more money...
He found a hit man ok! One that hit his pocket for another $USD 3,000.00.
So now he had been f***ed out of about US$ 12,000.00, Plus God knows whatever else…
I told him there and then don't ever call me again! You are lucky you are not in prison...
I feel sorry for the guy but come on; he has watched way too many movies…
I’ll be back…
