I was an Ovaltinie. Radio Luxembourg had a programme devoted to us in the days when the signal faded in and out. Special forces had nothing on us mate, we even had our own secret code.
Actually I've never met anyone else who was in the Ovaltinies, well not that they ever admitted to it anyway. See that's how professional we are. I've met lots of SAS down Soi Cowboy and they brag something rotten. Amazing how many SAS operatives have beer bellies. They should have stuck to Ovaltine.

I have a mate who is ex-SAS. Don't think any real ones would brag as they as so bloody professional. He has told me some interesting stories about some of them especially the one who gets dressed up as a woman! He took out about six police officers one night wearing that skirt ! He's been in the tabloid papers in that dress ! Tough as nails.
You can generally tell ex-military the same way you can tell an ex-copper. Just something about their manner.
It's amazing how much information American military will volunteer without too much elicitation! Name and type of ship in Pattaya. Air Force colonel at an air show,"You see those nozzles on the engines of that SR-71 Blackbird. They are designed for Mach 4!" etc etc.
Would be quite easy to find out US Special Forces with the correct Elicitation?

I was always impressed by the Blackbird's ability to fly a bit faster and a bit higher (carrying a crew of two in space suits) than a scheduled passenger service.

Still no-one else admitting to being an Ovaltinie. Just goes to show how very elite we are.
Next time I visit Emporium I'll wear a balaclava so no-one recognizes me when I slip the Ovaltine in my basket.

BTW, I was also in the city where they filmed Navy Seals when they filmed it, and some of my friends were hired as technical/warfare/military consultants
the local residents were ROTFLTAO in the theater at the goofs in geography etc. in the film when it opened in theaters 
I think Lucky666 is right about the encouragement of secrecy among the ranks of Special Forces
I've known a few, and some of their fields of operation were never discussed, one fellow I even learned about some of his whereabouts through the course of his military career at his funeral (R.I.P.)
so we could say that he took the secrecy issue very seriously, because he told plenty of stories, just the ones he knew he could tell
