Real makeup (e.g., Western brands) is fairly expensive in Thailand. The local stuff works, but the quality isn't as good. My TGF had used the local stuff for years, so for her bday a year ago, took her to the Este Lauder desk at Emporium. The lady there did a complete makeover on her face, and matched the "primer and topcoat" to her skin color and skin type. The effect was kind of surprising. Even the lipstick worked. For a change, the makeup lady didn't try to make her white, with all the ghoolish shit, but worked with her darker skin. Even my TGF was suprised when she looked in the mirror. I liked the effect so much that I insisted she continue to buy the stuff, over her assertions that it was too expensive (it is, but I'm a sucker for a good looking face).
Other thing we found was the lipstick lasted all day, though it is a lot more expensive than the stuff at MBK. And it doesn't come off all over everything. In fact, my TGF recently complained sadly that she had dropped her new lipstick at work and it broke in half. She was crushed; I suggested she stick it back together, lol, and was dressed down by her for my impuniousness, ha! "When break, then break! Cannot put back together, Babababoe teelakja!"
She had used streetstall makeup in her early days in BKK, but stopped doing that after her face lit up like an incendiary -- who know what was in it.
So, yep, a good makeover can transfomr boys into ladyboys, and girls into, well, girls!

Do you think in all your wisdom that perhaps MaxNaut, myself and maybe even DG, could become empoyable again as a 2 or 3 man comedy group.
Dont worry West, prices went down on rubbers in LOS, but I do hear the better rubbers do come from Burma. So you may yet make a profit if you sell the Burmese ones in LOS. That should offset the extra money you forked out for the re-route of your trip.
If you go to the end of Soi 18 Suk and call out for the Swiss bloke, he will buy plenty off you, or was it bears ?? hell if I know these days, too much time on my hands.

Not a bad idea for giving the TG a nice treat, Estee Lauder makeover. Can you remember the cost off hand and if you had to make an appointment.
