It is SO fake. Listen, what you need to ask yourself when you're watching any so-called "reality show" or even documentary film, is this:

-how did they get each shot?
-how many cameras were involved in acquiring all the different perspectives you're seeing? for instance, how did they manage to get shots in front of, on the side of, behind, two people walking and talking in a dramatically crucial, tense situation?
-how did they get all the exact same establishing shots...from a fixed (tripod-based) point of view, and all the perfectly focused close-ups of every face of ever person involved, capturing every emotion displayed in a give scene?

there is NO way to acquire all those things without careful staging of every shot, and multiple rehearsals.

No, it does not appear fake to me. Many of the scenes are where the producers are interviewing the participants as things unfold, or maybe even after the fact, and those are obviously "planned" but I don't see how that makes it fake. A few scenes "may" have been reenacted, but I could not tell you which ones for sure.

I have no idea what you mean when you mention the camera angles or the fact that people where in-focus. Being more specific might help me understand better.

So do you think they got any facts wrong?

If you've ever done video production you know how hard it is--nay, impossible--to get things to be as clean as organized as all the shots are in any "reality" show, including this one.

I didn't say they got any "facts" wrong...certainly, events could have (and do) happened similar to those they portray. My only point is that what they videotaped was scripted, rehearsed, and carefully set up with multiple cameras and actors all standing exactly where the director said they should stand. This is what happens in all "reality shows" and most documentary films that you watch.

So yes, like all "reality" show it is a fake carefully made to look real, and unless you know what to look for it look real...
A bit like the way Thai girls act with their customers...look like "real love" to some morons....

From the latest show (screened Monday in UK), there is an English expat facing a life, or a death sentance, after Pattaya Police found a stack of drugs in this guys home. He is an (alleged) drug dealer, supplying expats, holiday makers and high class society all over South East Asia.

Amazingly, the angle the film is taking, is to try and win sympathy from the viewer for this piece of scum. The wife and daughter are interviewed saying that the expected sentance is too harsh and the Thai Authorities don't know what they are doing. Then shitbag himself says that they only tested a small amount of the drugs for purity, and that the rest of the evidence isn't submissable for court. Yeh, like the rest are sweeties and you are unlucky they picked the only bag of tablets that were pure. He keeps smiling at the camera as if he really believes he is hard done by.

Don't need to go into the effects drugs have on kids, parents and families etc, but if this plank is stupid enough to touch drugs in Thailand and arrogant enough to smile for the camera claiming he is "hard done by", and his family think he has done nothing wrong, I hope he getas a slow and painful death and his wife is beaten black and blue by a bunch of ladyboys and his daughter is raped by an HIV infected Russian.

Romeland, yes this is what I thought about the wife and daughter of the drug smuggler, when they started to say he done nothing wrong I was screaming at the screen saying " say that to the father and mothers who has lost family members through drugs".

Usuing the same logic of james bond and romeland. Anyone selling alcohol and cigarettes should be put to death as well. Only these drugs just so happen to be 'legal"

Say that to the fathers and mothers who lost family members to drunk drivers and cancer.
