I can get Thai pricing at parks and such by showing my Thai Driver's license.
I just say in thai that I am paying taxes here, and that's enough. No proof asked asked except once in Khao Yai (and I have the proof anyway).

IMHO the giving of a tip is an individuals decision based upon the personal service received and should not be automatically expected or assumed by anyone.
Establishments (restaurants etc) that automatically include a % for a “service” charge are in my opinion taking the piss.
If I were in such a place and the service was poor would they reduce my bill by that very same % amount? I doubt it. 
On the other hand if I were in a restaurant and received poor service (even if the food is good) then it is my decision to tip or not to tip the server.
Bear in mind the food may not be up to scratch but the service may be excellent, but you cant blame the server, so once again its all a matter of personal taste and experience.
I happen to use the quick hair cut facility in the MRT shopping area under Asok intersection.
It’s quick and efficient (I am a busy man) and although it may seem expensive to some BTF members at 100 THB, it suits my fast paced jet set lifestyle.
I don’t have time to wonder around looking to save a few Baht that when totaled up won’t even buy me a beer... 
Everywhere you go there are double standards in pricing, from food vendors in the central Bus Station in Bridgetown Barbados to the entrance fee to the Zoo in Frankfurt Germany to the Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park in Copenhagen Denmark...
As far as I can remember if one shows his/her passport to prove he/she were born in a city that is twinned with Frankfurt then you get free access to most things like Zoo’s, Museums, Art Gallery’s, Amusement Parks, etc. I never heard of anyone complaining about not being born in a twinned city.
It all boils down to common sense, and personal attitudes, so if you think you (or others) are being (have been) ripped of then don’t frequent those establishment’s, but by all means bring it to the attention of the forum members so we can all avoid these places. That is what this BTF forum is all about, sharing useful information and giving advice.
It is not up to individual members such as Daffyd the Desperate for attention Duck to say what should and should not be posted. 
It is up to the boss man himself BK. After all BK is the owner of this establishment and if Daffyd the Desperate for attention Ducky don’t like it then he/she/it can Duck right off...
My tip today is stop spitting your dummy Duckie it won’t get you anywhere with the big boys...
Maybe we should keep this thread going and list all the other scams and rip offs such as illegally imported (smuggled) iPhonies that do not work...

i never said tipping is mandatory
if the service wasnt good then he should have complained and only paid 50 baht then
its not about being rich or poor or even tipping 50%
yes I tip my hairdresser because I appreciate what he does, yes he gets paid but a tip is a thankyou for extra service etc
same way some of you might get a bonus at work
dont get confused over the fact $1 is 50% of $2 I wasnt saying that you should tip 50% thats just people like daffy trying to misconstrue my words
but usually in the service industry you tip people for good service because its commonly accepted that their salaries are low
and again its nothing to do with being rich, but whats wrong in spreading a little happiness and wealth and giving someone $1 extra

$1 means a lot to some people
and im not one of these people that thinks wow thats so cheap compared to uk usa etc at all, asia is a poor country, goods and services are cheaper, but I also like to tip and reward good service
and daffy, ok then "to my knowledge" I have never been cheated - because if I had known then I would have done something or said something
i havent been cheated because believe it or not im not that gullible naive or stupid, I know how much things are "supposed" to be, and if I decide to pay more because im some rich farang etc then its up to me to do that
and all these people that suggest that its people like me increasing st prices for girls thats nonsense, thats supply and demand, if the girl asks for 3k, u say no and offer 1k, she will either accept it or say no
i guess you can try bartering for your haircut first, maybe you can even get it for 40baht if he is quiet and hasnt cut and hair all day and needs to make 40baht
anyway this post needs to be closed now, the dual pricing thing has been discussed many times and all it does it give daffy more ammunition to post his tosh

Hey local yokul, on page 2 you mentionned about fuel prices gotten so high, but they are here in Thailand at round 17 B a litre, compared to 42 some month ago. So wrong comparison.
By the way, paying taxes here (a hell of a lot, over 500 K a year), I did only once paid the "farang" price, and otherwise the Thai price...

i would just like to apologise now then in advance if my overtipping is ruining the mongering for the rest of you and driving up prices just because im too rich and stupid to care
