The Supreme Court issued arrest warrants for Thaksin and his wife, Potjaman, and seized 13 million baht ($385,000) in bail bonds after he failed to appear in a corruption case.
Thats about 2,985 Blackberry Pearl's (model 8130 - $129 a pop thru Sprint). That's alot of phones, but really peanuts for Tax-sin and his wife - they got so many phones I heard they set thier's on vibrate and stick them up their asses and then call each other (on other phones of course) - just for fun.

Actually both. The idea is that the other person sees someone better off, becomes envious, and the recipient of the envy can see it in their eyes.
Sorta like the looks I see when SGGirl and I take the Jag to the local hawker center for her Laksa. When the single women see SGGirl getting out of a luxury car with a Westerner you can see the jealousy in their eyes (funny because SGGirl could probably buy and sell any one of us of us a few times over)...

Police circulate arrest warrants for Thaksin and Pojaman
The Royal Thai Police on Thursday started distributing two arrest warrants for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Khunying Pojaman.
The warrant for Thaksin has the statue of limitations for 15 years and the one for Pojaman is enforced for 10 years.
The Supreme Court issued the warrants on Monday after Thaksin and Pojaman jumped bails and failed to report themselves on the Ratchadapisek land case.

Hours after Thai government issued arrest warrants for the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife; Pojaman, he decided to go shopping at Guildford, southwest of London.
A UK-based website, getsurrey.com, reported that Thaksin, owner of England's Manchester City Football Club, went shopping with his family in the town centre, and was seen popping into Carphone Warehouse and French Connection.
The ex-Thai leader, who was flanked by bodyguards, also spoke to the small number of shoppers who recognised him.
It is thought one of his daughters could be attending the University of Surrey in Guildford to study tourism and management, the online said.
Thaksin - who owns a property in St George's Hill, Weybridge - is wanted by the government in Thailand to face corruption charges.
His wife, who was by his side as he ambled through Tunsgate, is also on bail pending appeal after she was jailed in Thailand for tax fraud.
In an exclusive interview with ThaidUp Thanksfornuttin said the following:

It looks like Thailand made CNN again with "Big Egg on Face" That is why I made sure a cook got elected to the PM position.

This may sound rudimentary but regarding their passports......
To my knowledge, normal Thai passports are only valid for 5 years...
Is there an exception in his case (diplomatic passport being permanent, does he already have dual passports, etc.... I dont know????)
I am the same as Minder here, I figure Thaksin is way smarter than me and would have covered his bases when it comes to permanant/long term renewel or getting one from another country??????
How difficult would it be for him and his family to obtain an English/British Passport??
I have a 2 friends with dual US and Thai passports and I have never heard anything about that being the case with Thaksin...he did attend Uni here, right?

Maybe once the Thai courts find Tax-sin guilty in his absentia trial the UK can arrange for the convict to get an Aussy passport? The queen is still has some pull down under don't she?
They might even be able to get his wife one now since she is already a convict.
