just watched the third show,
the guy with the ton of drugs did not have a chance,
if his big point was they only tested 5 pills and not the 1000s he had, well he was going down,
and glad to see it too,
I am so much NOT a party animal and seeing the drunken goons out being stupid has made me want even more to be in my room with the catch of the night before it gets to crazy,
I guess BKK is actually pretty tame when you look at the rest of the places !
Anyone have a take on what the local Thais think of this ?

This program is just padded out shit. Kept going on about plane crash on Samui, which would have been better suited to the Aircrash Disaster series of programes and not really relevant to tourist Thailand as the crash could have been anywhere. Also the British Embassy Consulant, talk about play up to the camera,... is there anything else we can do for you..anything else at all ? When I had a family bereavement (nasty episode), they offered me jack shit and couldn't even sort out a simple matter with the airline for flying home the deceased baggage. And do we need to know every bloody time who the tourist police officer is with a still picture and typewriter letters scrolling.... yes we know it is the bald, happy and chubby man in Pattaya wearing his police uniform to try and ease the guilt of years spent being a sex tourist. (probably  )

Equating drugs with cigarettes and drinks and even motor bikes seems generously over the top to me. Equating it with liberal arms licences instead might have made for a better debate. Cigarettes and drinks are not so instantly damaging as drugs or guns. One shot at a drug is enough to make one an addict and then eventually destroy him or her. Smoke and drinks are not in the same league. They do give a person enough time and leeway to opt out. Just my 2baht bit.
