Personally, I do not see the attraction of bringing a TG out of Thailand in order to have her become the western woman you were trying to avoid, but hey, everyone is different.
Was it Mel's point that it was a huge mistake to clean dishes and cook and do other things that TGs are accustomed to doing? Is so, he is 100% correct, you start doing these things and you will be expected to do these and others. And this is not unique to Thai women, but women the world over. If she asks "why you not clean, why you not cook?" then tell her to re-wire the house, build a fence, and put on a new roof, then you'll cook her a meal as a thank you.

Quite a bit of inconsistency here in these two statements. First you are saying doing a TGs work causes problems (which I believe is 100% correct) then you imply that cooking and cleaning are somehow related to you excitement about your family. 
Another way of looking at this is that if someone lets the wife cook and clean, then they will have more time to spend with the children while the wife is doing these chores. Jao khao jai bor?

Well, I step away from the forum for a few days to earn a living and it seems my thread has run amok, lol!
I agree with CG's comments, and have no desire to farangize my TGF. In fact, I've pointed out to her over the years why I don't date farang women, whom scowl at us so bitterly on the streets of BKK. So she knows what I want.
I also agree with the comment made here that if one is not watching the signs, and parking their brain at the customs line in BKK, it's really easy to get fleeced. My TGF's cousin is in the process of doing this to another farang at the moment. My TGF disapproves, but my view is "som nam naa!" as this dude was given every chance and indication to walk away but he keeps going in for more financial hardship. Stupid, but happens all the time in LOS.
My TGF and I just celebrated our 6th year anniversary, she'll be 30 this year, so not a Spring chicken anymore by Thai standards. She worries about this, and that's good, as it keeps her slim, sexy, and pleasant.
But mostly, after 6 years of ups and downs, and lots of adventures and misadventures, we are good friends. I'm hoping that will continue when she shows up here. As my TGF always says, "I cannot see future" so nothing is certain. And her staying in Thailand while I slave over here is not an option anymore. Time to fish or cut bait. Or eat a little pussy...
