what kinda bugs me (only a wee bit) is when the bartenders and waitresses EXPECT a tip for doing their job.
I can understand if you've been in a place for a while and they are waiting on you hand and foot, but just for serving ONE drink they expect a tip equivalent of 25% of the value of the drink you ordered.

As I understood (?) the system, I decided that a lady drink was a nice gesture to help the lady make quota.
Post coital tips (if proffered) were simply that, a tip for what I thought was particularly good service.
About 10% of the ladies "deserved" a tip IMHO, though 70% asked for one. YMMV.
My exception was Eden take-out. They get a tip, always.

I haven't bought a gogo girl a drink for a couple of years now - say, 5 or 6 bar visits (Pattaya and Soi Cowboy - without the wife in tow). I always offer the 100 baht (2.5 lady drinks revenue @ 40baht) - and it has always been readily accepted.
I guess I have "one lady drink maximum" written clearly on my forehead these days and the girl is simply taking the best money option knowing I won't risk "feeding the ducks" on her account. Enjoy.

..........And of course PLEASE don't forget....if you leave a tip on the metal tray or in the fake leather bill wrapper it goes to the bar, if you want to leave your change for the specific service staff that took care of you then you need to hand it to her, not leave it on the tray.
