I receive a lot of SMS from Thailand.
the usual culprit is MaximusNaughtius.
Usually when he sends me an SMS it comes up as Tarquin (for that is his name...Aussie plick)
Last week he changed his SIM card, new number.
Despite having his new number in my phone when I get an SMS from him now it says AIS
If I reply...the number comes up as AIS...which of course is not a number.....so the phone rejects it.
This evening I receive an SMS....from AIS....must be Tarquin. So I phone him on the matter. Nope not him.
So now it seems I get AIS as the sender and number from every AIS carrying friend in Thailand.
so...........
a) Which one of you wankers sent me a message last night??
b) Anyone else get this problem from an AIS sender?
I know that recently, whereas I could always send SMS internationally from my AIS card when I lived there, now I cannot....
What's the score?

i also receive a fair amount of SMS's from Thailand, and as in your case, notably from a T/G who has recently changed her number, the sender is AIS!
I thought maybe it was a 'free' SMS service via a web site - a bit like O2 here in the UK, but now i'm not so sure! So, can any AIS wankers out there provide any assitance...??!!

I also get AIS when I get sms from 2 Thai girls and as you can imagine it causes confusion sometimes because it's not always easy to know which one it is from.
I asked one of the girls if she was sending me the sms from a different source i.e via a website but she said she is still sending in the same way from her phone.

seems that the sms has been f_cked up in thailand lately! usually never had a problem getting sms from thailand on my thia phone while outside of the country nowadays many sms don't come through anymore or without a sender name!

Yep same here, AIS instead of name or number.
Couldn't recieve any sms from LOS on my UK vodaphone earlier this year, thought nobody lubbed me anymore, but they (vodaphone) told me they had blocked sms from Thailand.
Nice of them to tell me, a girl that I like had been sending some messages, but thought I had been ignoring her.

Guys,
I'm so glad I read this post..I too kept getting txt's from AIS...i thought my tg was sending over the net, but it appears that nothing has changed...I'ts hard to tell who sent you the text as I have many tg's...
