I'll be in Thailand in just over two weeks and my girlfriend and I are going to put together a package just to try to do our bit. After money, what would be most useful to people now? Clothes, Children's toys?
Any advice would be appreciated.

To be realistic, if Thai’s need clothes they need them now…
From what I see on the news they have plenty of cloths that are being donated locally.
The Thai’s are most resourceful and resilient, bouncing back quite quickly with big clear up operation in Phuket.
The long term needs will be more than just cloths and toys, why not just take your gift items to a boot sale and send the money to http://www.dec.org.uk/, this money will go where it is needed; Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, etc.

Don't bring (or donate) anything but money. The logistical cost of transporting and distributing other items is more than the value of the items in almost every case, and takes away from money needed for essential needs.
Obviously, if there is a blood drive going on, you can give blood also.

Thanks lads, we donated to the disaster fund through Barclay's Bank and Everton Football Club before we realised that it would have taken less time (and admin cost) if we went straight to DEC. I hope they'll accept my blood regardless of my disgusting lifestyle!
