Unless she owns land, his a good job, not from Isan, and has a good amount of money in the bank account it is almost impossible unless you bring her on a K3 Fiance or K1 Marriage Visa. I hope someone can prove me wrong because I would love to do the same for my girl.

Heres the deal on this. You have to go with her to the interview. Have your passport ready and show how many times you've been to LOS. Don't dress like a beach bum. Be polite even if things don't seem to be going your way. Have all your paper work completed and neat. Look organized. She has to show a job history of at least one year and a bank account with a history of deposits. If she has a lease on her apartment bring it. Short letter from her employer on their letterhead saying what a great worker she is doesn't hurt. Have her dress like a normal Thai women. Tell her to speak "polite" Thai. Good luck and your mileage may vary.

Depends what you mean easy. I do not think it's an easy process. But Nothing Venture, Nothing Gain. 50% is the girl's background and yours, another 50% is how well you prepared and how much Luck. Treating it like going to a discreet job interview, well prepared all documents needed, Prepared to answer all the expected questions. Recommend the girl wearing poplin crisp long sleeve shirt with knee lenght skirt or trousers and closed toe shoes. Give them a nice smile but not jokingly smile. May the luck be with you.

Unless the girl is weathly and/or very well educated she will probably have great difficulty getting a tourist visa to the US. You really only have the fiance and marriage visas as realistic options from what I understand. Both of you have to sign papers stating that you are single and provide proof that you have the financial means to fully support yourselves once married. If you're between jobs or fighting it out with the IRS then you may have trouble. Fiance visas supposedly take from 3 months to 1 year to process (sometimes longer). I believe marriage visas take longer still. I have a friend who is just now starting this process to bring a girl back from VN. Should be interesting.

Soi8, No, it is not easy to bring a Thai girl back to the U.S. for a "short vacation". I am American and have researched this topic in depth. Here's the short of it: Obtaining an "American Tourist Visa" can be very difficult for a Thai person. Like the others said, she must have a good job, property, and money in the bank. I know Thai girls here in the states who obtained tourist visas illegally in Thailand at a cost of US$5,000.00. That's another story. If the girl is in the P4P industry, you can just about forget the tourist visa. Your other options are either the fiance or marriage visa. The fiance visa will allow you to bring her to the U.S. for 90 days, during which time you must get married. The marriage visa will allow her to go to the U.S. after you are married in Thailand. You can file all the needed documents in America and plan on waiting about 6 months for processing. After the paperwork is processed she will be interviewed in Thailand by the U.S. Embassy. Since you only mentioned a "short stay", these types of visas may not be what you want. You must be committed to a girl to go thru all the bullshit the American Gov't throws at you. Here in America, we have millions of Mexicans living illegally and thousands more crossing the border every day. The gov't does nothing about it, but I can't even bring my Thai girl here for a short visit. BULLSHIT!!!!

From personal experience: My thai girlfriend has made two attempts at a tourist visa to the USA. Here is what we have tried with no success. Two requests have been made in person to the embassy in Thailand. Documents in support of her application were: -A letter from her employer stating that she has worked at the same hospital as a nurse for 16 plus years with a perfect work record. -Bank account information including the equivalent of a nice nest egg in Thai Baht not to mention when converted to US dollars. -Proof of property ownership in NE Thailand. -Proof of property owned in Bangkok puchased over a year ago. 2br/2bath condo....new construction. -I might add she speaks almost fluent english, has a degree from University and is extremely polite and respectful. After the first attempt and rejection she reapplied with a letter from my congressman from the state of Georgia trying to help with the process. The offices said they can not put any pressure on the embassy staff to approve her visit but a letter on her behalf could help. No such luck. She has been turned down on two seperate instances. It is also my understanding that repeated applications further hurt the chances of getting a tourist visa into America. Overall I'm pissed because she is not a young sex kitten. 38 years-old with perfect credentials for a visa to visit the US. Don't understand why Thailand extends to me the courtesy to just show up at the airport and like magic I get a 30-day stay with no hassle but my country refuses to extend to her or Thai nationals the same courtesy. I guess I will have to consider a fiancee visa as my next alternative. LS

In order to get a visitor visa your TGF has to convience the Embassy Consular beyond any doubt, she will return to Thailand. The Consulars decision is final and is not subject to appeal. A girlfriend/boyfriend relationship in most instances will lead to rejection of the visa, because there is a chance she will stay. Just the relationship to a US citizen can be a negative in this process. LastSurvivor I think if your TGF signed up for organized tour of the US, she would have pretty good chance of getting a visitor visa. Again paying attention to stated above. The visas used to be issued for 6 months, but now maybe shorter periods. Once in US, she can apply for extension (easier to get in US). The trick is getting here. I've done the visitor visa circle jerk! I've done the K1, the process took 1.5 years. My Thai wife now has her green card (Really a white card). I did everything myself with no problems, with alot help on the internet.
