Hello,
I do not know where to begin. I had met this nice TG over the internet about 6-8 months ago. She told me then that she was working for an internet cafe as a cashier. She also told me that she has a BF from a European country who sent her money regularly.
We have been chatting on a daily basis and yesterday she told me that she has lost her internet job. The money she gets from her boyfriend is not enough for her to carry on. She has a good experience as a cashier (9 years) and also can give Thai language tutions and do some typing of reports work. I am requesting all of you if you come across some openings do let me know so I can help her out.
Before people spam me, let me add I do not know the truth and yes I have taken her word for it. I am trying to see something positive about trying to help someone get a job rather than giving some money. Folks,.. no, friends, if you can help me out it would be wonderful.

However, we could be wrong and this could be a genuine case but why would a thai national ask a farang, who is corresponding with her from thousands of miles away, to find her a job in LOS????

Spurs Man; iamcollboyin does not say she has asked him to find her a job - just informed him of her change of circumstances. And even if she did ask it seems she has skills - English language and report writing - that may be of use to a foreign company in Thailand - and those company's pay better than locals so why not ask. Mai bpen rai might be the most common saying in Thailand but "there is no harm in asking" seems to be the most common attitude.
That said of course, she could be, as you say, setting the scene and now the European BF will turn off the funds and iamcollboyin will be hit up for a "loan" just till she finds her feet again. That's 1 of a million variations but you get the idea.
I'd tend to think she is genuine as it has taken her 6-8 months to even start the "scam" - but who can ever tell? And of course, if she is genuine then iamcollboyin now has "a friend in need" and has to decide just how much he is prepared to do to help her.....ah Thailand smoke and mirrors...

I am sure any off us at leat I can for some taxi money go visit the internet cafe or even "chat her up" to se if its the real thing but it sounds like scam. On the other hand they loose there jobs and get new once all the time in thailand and I am sure she will manage.
