Several times I have ran into and drank with this men in their 40's and 50's who are now retired and living off of their $4000.00 a month pensions, or were greatly successful in real estate and are now millionaires and spend months in LOS. I always feel shitty later because of my lack of such success. earlier in life I made so me alturistic decisions, similar to going into the Peace Corp for 15 years, that depresses me now LOL. Anyway I have met some mighty successful dudes on my trips to LOS

Looks like you've been meeting the same BS merchants I've been bumping into.
Met one on holiday here this past weekend. He apparently has his own highly successful PLC. He seemed to have trouble describing exactly what it did though.

Still it beats the international heroin dealer I met about two years ago.

Yeah there are quite a few wealthy individuals here whose gains are ill-gotten!!
I am always amazed how many farangs living in Pattaya drive Bt10m+ cars. I saw 3 together in one road once - and this is the cheap charlie capital of asia.
Of course you also encounter the other bull-shitter - the guy who has dreamed up a whole new wealthy life for himself because he is on holiday and his home life is too dull. While guys are often disappointed in their chicks when they take them back home, imagine what the TGs think when their apparently freespending, playboy turns out to be just another assembly line worker living in a shack.

TG's know 'rich'. At least, the ones who work in Bangkok do.
I am not rich but have a comfortable existence & spend freely when in Bkk. However, in many discussions with TG's they can obviously tell my income level by the job that I do & where I stay etc, & I know that a few of them have been not interested long term because they think that they can do better financially. Some would prefer to be the mistress of a rich. married guy than the girlfriend of a middle class single guy. Money = Status.
You can obviously disguise your wealth if you vacation here 2 x year, but if you live here or travel frequently the TG's will soon get your financial measure.
As for Falangs. When in Pattaya, I never ask what they do, or how they have managed to 'retire' so early. I would be very wary of getting into business with any foreigner in Pattaya. Too many rotten eggs for my liking.

Nice to be well off but it is important to enjoy your life.
I spend some time in bars where the retirees, workers in BKK and on business here (dats me) for a while go. There are all sorts, and ya know whats nice? They mix really well together. Different nationalities. From property millionaires ($), lawyers, well heeled business guys to retirees on small pensions, English teachers and down on their luck computer guys. Wouldn't happen too much in farangland. Must be the pussy glue that keeps em together.
In the dark of a bar with loud music and wall to wall pussy they are all the same.

I can totally relate to your sentiments. Try my tact- to recall or remind yourself of those who's lives were burdened by the wealth. I grew up with more than a half a dozen of this sort, some were even the best and brightest of their cliques, born with silver spoons and set for life. Yet they chose an early exit through suicide. Memories of those few souls always tempers whatever BS a HiSo chump throws in my face.
