anyone know of a hotel that allows for a direct ethernet hookup to a fast internet connection? or any businesses that allow it?
i'm thinking of going back to bangkok - 2nd trip! - and I don't want to take a full weeks vacation so I figure if I can do some work while i'm there it'll go a bit easier for my work load...

I know the Grand Hyatt has broadband in every room. And I would be most of the other 4 and 5 star hotels have it as well. Not sure just how cheap you want to go though. I am sure other members here can fill you in on the lower end of the hotel spectrum.

well, while the grand hyatt isn't out of my price range, i'd like to find something in the "way cheap-o" range...but, if I have to pay for the service, then so be it...

Check out the Presidents - Royal President, Grand President and President Park. You can get in there for under 2000 baht/night and all have high speed internet available for a fee.
Many Internet cafes will also allow you to bring you laptop in and hook up to their ethernet connection.

Centre Point Petchaburi 15 -- room's under 2000 Baht, with complimnetary high speed internet (wired) in each room.

A lot of the internet cafes are pretty slow. For a small extra charge - the Grottino between soi 17 and 19 offers broadband access, which is pretty fast compared to that of other hotels.
