Hi, Has anyone ever run the BKK marathon in November? I believe its been going for 20 odd years. Do they have any hints or advice in terms of booking a place, numbers running, climate etc... I am thinking of running it, or the shorter 1/4 marathon this year, I believe on Nov 26th; need to get some training in either way. Thanks in advance.

Never had the chance to run the bangkok marathon. I did find the website which states the starting time is 2 am which make sense becuase there will be a lot of casualty if it is run in the day time in bangkok. Here is the link http://www.bkkmarathon.com/www_eng/main.asp

Considering the heat 2 am sounds about right However if you are a fast runner sounds like it would be a pain as the faster you are the later you start so you will end up having to pass everyone who started before you.
3rd Start at 04.00 a.m. for the elite runners who are estimated finishing time within 4 hours.
Not that would really be a consideration I would need to take into account

Thanks for the info, can't seem to find any stuff about 2006 event on the website, bit surprising as event is 5 months away. Anyone else thinking about running the shorter 10km distance?

I took part in the half-marathon { 21 kms } (held in conjunction with the Bangkok Marathon) in 1986 & 1987
