I'm looking to purchase a magnetic rowing machine for personal use at home. After quitting my Fitness First membership after a year (they only had one machine!!) I want to buy one, trouble is these babies are not easy to find in LOS (or so it seems).
I've been to Sportsworld in the Siri Centre and they have only 1 machine, top end costing 44,000 Baht !
I googled and found a forum raving about the 5th floor of the Mall Bangkapi, drove there last night, they had no rowing machines, order only and only 1 model @ 37,000 Baht, another top end unwanted model.
They suggested I go to FTB in Ramkampheng so I did, 5 floor building full of sports gear, absolutely brimming with everything from fishing to weights to golf and all the clothing that went with it, excellent store, the entire 5th floor was covered in all manner of sports machines and multi gyms, but again, only 1 rowing machine, 35,000 Baht, top end model.
I found a factory in Guangdong that makes them, he said he could ship me one for 13,500 Baht plus shipping, DHL wanted another 12,000 baht, 25,500 baht ! That factory put me in touch with a customer in Hat Yai, they very kindly offered to provide me with a top end rowing machine delivered to my door in Bangkok for 30,000 Baht all in.
Rowing machines just aren't this expensive (well they appear to be here), I have a reasonable budget of 15,000 Baht.
Does anyone know where there is a wide selection of magnetic rowing machines in Bangkok ? Anybody looking to sell a second hand one ? Any ideas ?
