Nice post, and thanks for the link. As an experienced traveler, I try to constantly improve my packing techniques. Packing for LOS means not having to pack cold weather clothes, but on the other hand, I sweat like a son-of-a-bitch so I need to pack a few extra shirts. I still try to get everything into my 40 liter bag. Cheers!

I stocked loads of shirts for that very reasons before. Then I found out how dirt cheap and easy cleaning in BK is. Nowadays I return home with a full set of nicely fresh cleaned shirts and everything... 
This no stain policy is also good for the peace of my marriage...

If money is not a problem, then just buy the clothes you need here, or pre-order them, and have it sent to your hotel room. Saves you time on all the packing hassles. Just bring the items you cannot find there, such as Trojans, etc.

Or just leave your bag with all your clothes packed at your hotel and arrive with no checked bag at all...
This way you can bring more presents for your girls and bring back more things to farangland on the way back.

This actually reminds me of when I lived in hotel Sheraton during the week and in my home over the weekends, during a year of expat assignment.
I had a suitcase I stored at the hotel in between, I had the same room (128) from Monday night to Thursday night week after week. I left the box under the bed and the room was rented out to others over the long weekend.
I did the same in Singapore when I travelled up to BKK courting Mrs La Rue ( the wonderful Noi) over the weekends, but I left it in the lugage room.
So if you know you go to LOS regularly and are prepared to stay at the same hotel, store the hole thing at the hotel. I never paid for storage.

I agree with the storage at the hotel / service apartment deal. I have been doing that for 3 years. Now living here for several months not an issue, but for 3 years was in and out every 2-3 months. Just traveled with one bag back and forth for work with the necessities.
