Hi Guys - I'll be staying in Fortuna Hotel on a one night, one day lay-over in a few weeks. It's my first visit to BKK, so any info re where to go and how to get around in such a limited time would be much appreciated - will arrive 9:30PM, leave next day 530PM - want to get at least two sessions in.
I like to take pics (and I don't mean of shrines), so clubs like Eden are out. I prefer freelancers or maybe take-out from a club (two at a time, LT for the first night, then a short-time next day around midday - such a tight schedule!).
I don't want to spend all my time in traffic, so places walking distance from Fortuna would be great.
Here's an extract from their website. (And how about their "Thai Traditional massage rooms"????)

Fortuna Hotel 19 Soi 5, Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey... in the center of Bangkok city; close to sky train station,... Thai traditional massage rooms.
Nearby Foodland supermarket, Nana night plaza,... Nana sky train station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The expressway entry-exist point is only 2 blocks away.

Melvin - feel better now you have off your chest? Hmmm. UTFSE for what? - I'm not after hotel info, just a few tips on what's nearby, and after reading 2,920,000 pages of *ahem* on the BKK threads, found about 2.92 pages of useful info.

I'd suggest that you will be most likely to find what you are looking for in Soi 7 Beer garden, very close to where you are in the afternoon, followed by an evening trip to Nana Plaza. Will limit your trip to around 3 blocks, and that best suited to you.

1. After checking in to hotel, say around 11pm (airport immigration + taxi), head over to Nana. Any floor's bar is safe (unlike Patpong). From what I've read, Rainbow bars are pretty hopping. Just walk in, take a look at who's dancing. There will be other girls (they dance in shifts), but 1st impressions can be telling. If not to your liking, try another. That's your LT.
Up next morning, walk over to skytrain, climb stairs, skytrain from Nana towards Mochit, but get off at Siam (change stations). Then grab the train towards Saphan Taksin, but get off at Sala Daeng. Find Patpong 1 (easier), walk 1/2 way down, find the alley, and move over to Patpong 2. Just to your left will be SOL.
The above, I know. Alternate route: walk up Sukhumvit to Soi Asoke, soi 21. Not far as soi's are even numbered to right, odd to left, so from soi 5, you're really only going 8 blocks. Catch the subway from Asoke to Sala Daeng.
Reverse skytrain, back at Nana. Head to Sukhumvit, soi 7 Bier Garten. Pick up a ST'er (or 2).
And for a real thrill, take a motorcycle taxi (you'll see the drivers on just about every corner - wearing vests with numbers).
Then to airport.
See, the dxb'ers take care of their own.

Why waste time walking all the way to NANA when the beer garden/alley Soi5/7 would be a better idea for such a short time (pun intended) in Bangkok.
Walk along Soi 5 towards Sukhumvit Just before Sukhumvit there is a alley to the left. walk through, at the Soi 7 end there is the Bier garden to the left, Freelancer heaven. If you are really looking you may not even make Soi 7
Do what ever you want then Throw her out and take a walk along Sukhumvit for some food and a lookie lookie and if you see anything you like a second of the evening/night
and I know I will be flamed for this but the next day morning could go to Annies Soi 4, not too many places open in the mornings. not the best looking but willing IMO
Then there could be time for another session somewhere else.
Food, if you can find time to eat, in Foodland Soi 5.
If your flight is 5:30pm then you would just have time to get to the airport to check in and I would suggest a shave and shampoo/haircut at the barbers shop in the departure side of the airport.
Enjoy your trip and have a sleep on your flight to recover!!!!!!!

Only suggesting certain places to provide the "been there, done that" answer.
Yes, the FL's are certainly numerous, but what can be better than stepping into a jumping a-go-go bar for the 1st time time, seeing a number of hot numbers up on stage, knowing that it's possible to sample any that might catch your eye (unlike stripper bars in more civilized countries which are look but no touch teases) ?
And after reading of SOL... why not? Certainly not the same after the remodel, but still... if Piper gets there late morning, 11:30, perhaps in time for the lunch time crowd... like being in a 3d porno movie.
Certainly Annie's at noon, for the air mattress body to body massage is a reasonable suggestion, although, as often stated, the ladies there can be long in the tooth. Used to be a personal favorite of mine, but haven't been back for a year+.
I would have recommended Baron's at noon, but that institution gone, and no experience with its replacement.
Only providing possible options. The other is just to stand out on Sukhumvit and fend off the lady-boys, mp touts, and fl's...

Try Soi 7/1 - You go to bottom of your Soi 5, onto the main Sukhumvit road, turn left, after 100 metres you come to Soi 7, carry on the pavement a short while and you'll comt to Soi 7/1. Try Boo Sa Bar or Aussie Down Under bar, or others there - ally pretty friendly and accomodating. Good luck

I visit DBX at least 2 - 3 times a year on all our long weekends.
Trying to get detailed info to follow seems impossible.
Next BKK trip 14 days next DBX trip March.
